Yr 7LL students were very excited to meet our visitors from Kamitonda. They had a fun morning getting to know each other and spending time playing board games. The language barrier didn’t stop our wonderful students from engaging with our visitors and making them feel welcome.

Well done Alyssa!

Our year 9 leading learner class has been working hard on their practical assessment exploring endothermic and exothermic reactions.

Students are collecting and analysing data from their experiment to use their findings to write a scientific report. It is fantastic to see them developing skills, scientific thinking and ability to communicate their results like young scientists!

Well done year 9 – keep up the great work!

Our Year 8 Big Picture Learning students had a fantastic time visiting the Litchfield Library and joining the seniors of our community for Tales, Tunes & Trivia!
It was a wonderful opportunity to bring generations together through stories, music, laughter and a little friendly competition. Our students enjoyed chatting with the seniors, sharing experiences, testing their knowledge and singing to Dolly Parton and Neil Diamond.

Our students are home safe after a fantastic trip to Mount Buller!

By the end of the trip, everyone had got the hang of skiing or snowboarding and was carving up the mountain in the glorious winter sunshine. The students loved spending time in the village and also enjoyed a trip to Air Zone.

There were plenty of tired and sore muscles, but lots of happy faces and great memories made. It was such a great opportunity for students to try something new, build their confidence and independence, and spend time together outside the classroom.

A big thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to make the trip possible and supported our students along the way. Even Mr Oscar found time to mark Maths and SOSE papers in the restaurant!

A huge shout-out to Taminmin College student Alyssa Harris, who represented the Northern Territory in the Junior Paraders competition at the Brisbane Ekka.

Alyssa did a fantastic job competing at such a high level and represented both the NT and Taminmin College with pride.

Well done, Alyssa. You’ve done us proud!

It was wonderful to welcome students from our sister school, Kamitonda, as part of our long-standing exchange program.

During their visit, students explored many of Darwin’s local attractions, stayed with Taminmin College families and experienced the Darwin way of life. They also toured our College, joined classes and explored the range of VET programs we offer.

A big thank you to our host families and everyone who helped make their visit so memorable. The exchange will continue in November, when a group of Taminmin College students will travel to Kamitonda to experience their school, culture and way of life.

Our students arrived at Mount Buller and are ready for an exciting few days in the snow! ❄️⛷️

Along with skiing and snowboarding lessons—and plenty of snowman building—the camp will give students opportunities to develop their independence, resilience and teamwork while experiencing a very different environment from home.
We hope they have an amazing time!
