What an incredible weekend for the Howrah Junior Soccer Club Mixed Under 12s!
Made up of Year 6 students from Howrah Primary School, the team took on four games across the weekend and remained undefeated, earning their place in the Sunday night final.
Despite some challenging weather conditions, the team showed fantastic perseverance, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament. They continued to support each other, work together and give their best right through to the final whistle. The final itself came down to an intense penalty shootout, where the team held their nerve to claim a fantastic victory!
A very special thank you to Mark and Zain, who have been incredibly generous with their time and energy, not only coaching the team throughout the series but also putting in so much work behind the scenes to organise the whole thing. Their commitment has given these kids a fantastic opportunity and helped make the weekend one they will remember for a lifetime.
Congratulations to all the players. What an achievement and what a team!

TA Appreciation Week

This week, we proudly celebrated Teacher Assistant Appreciation Week and recognised the incredible contribution our TAs make every day at Howrah Primary School. Their dedication, patience, care, and commitment help create positive learning experiences for our students and provide invaluable support to our teachers and school community.
We are grateful for the difference they make in the lives of our students each and every day.

It’s been fantastic to see the growth in our Year 3–6 volleyball skills this term! The rallies are getting longer, the skills are improving and, most importantly, students are starting to really understand how to work together and keep the ball alive.
Yesterday we swapped the volleyball for a Frisbee, as our volleyball unit is now completed. We were lucky enough to have Declan from Gecko Sports join us to introduce the students to some of the basic throwing and catching skills. Over the coming Thursdays, we’ll continue building these skills and learning more about the sport, with the term culminating in an Ultimate Frisbee game!
Yesterday certainly provided a few extra challenges with the wind and rain! Our Preps were able to head inside and thankfully, they just fit! Unfortunately, our older students are a little too big (and there are a few too many of them) to safely throw Frisbees around inside the hall… so we had to get creative and make the most of the conditions!
That’s PE - sometimes we get perfect conditions, and sometimes it’s about adapting, having a laugh and still finding a way to learn!
