Still community preschools in NSW wait for the 2027 funding guidelines... with no certainty around enrolments, teacher wages or parent fees, and the likelihood of funding cuts increasing.

Why would the Chris Minns government propose to defund the safest and highest quality part of the sector? Where is our early education Minister Prue Car MP? We need our local MPs to continue to speak up for us Justin Clancy MP

💗 A heartfelt thank you to our local MP, Justin Clancy MP, and all of the MPs who have taken the time to listen to our community preschools. 💗

At Howlong Preschool, we are incredibly grateful for the time Justin continues to give to our community preschool sector.

It means so much to know that our local representative is willing to listen, understand the challenges we are facing and continue to ask questions and seek improvements for NSW community preschools.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the MPs who have met with our Independent Education Union of Australia NSW / ACT Branch representatives at NSW Parliament House to hear about the needs and concerns of community preschools and to understand why change is so important.

We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to listen to the people working within and supporting our sector every day.

Our community preschool is such an important part of our local community. We know firsthand the difference that quality early learning, strong relationships and dedicated educators make in the lives of our children and families. We want to be able to continue providing that for many years to come. 🩷

There is still uncertainty around the NSW Government’s Universal Preschool Funding program, and we believe it is so important that the voices of community preschools are heard as the details are worked through. We need a funding model that recognises the true value of our not-for-profit community preschools and supports us to continue providing safe, high-quality early learning.

Thank you, Justin, and thank you to every MP who has sat down, listened and engaged with our sector. Your willingness to hear our concerns and push for improvements is genuinely appreciated.

We hope that by continuing these conversations, working together and making our voices heard, we can achieve positive change for our children, families, educators and the many wonderful community preschools across NSW. 💪🩷

Our children are our future, our educators deserve support, and our community preschools are worth protecting. 🌱💗

We are looking for motivated, qualified Early Childhood Teachers and educators to join our team.

Essential Criteria:
Approved Early Childhood teaching degree, Diploma or Cert III; current NSW Working with Children Check; Child Safe training, a solid understanding of the EYLF V2.0 , NQS and Regulations; ability to work in a team environment; love working with children.

Checking in isn’t about pushing for details—it’s about showing that you care. If they don’t open up straight away, remind them that you’re there whenever they’re ready.

Sometimes people simply need time or the right moment to share. Your steady presence and genuine care may mean more than you realise.
