Gadhaang (happy) NAIDOC mayiny (people)! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

The first week of July every year, from Sunday to Sunday, is NAIDOC Week.

This year is Sunday 5th to Sunday 12th July.

It's a time for all Australians to celebrate and recognise the history, cultures, achievements and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," celebrates five decades of honouring our voices, our resilience, our cultures and our communities.

๐Ÿ—ฃ In our language, marambangbilang means exceedingly good or deadly โ€“ and this year's celebrations are exactly that!

There are heaps of fantastic events happening across Albury-Wodonga, including cultural workshops, weaving, language, storytelling, exhibitions, music, family activities, yarning, community gatherings and much more.

Whether you're joining us for your first NAIDOC Week or you've celebrated for years, everyone is welcome. Bring the family, bring a friend, come have a yarn, learn something new, and celebrate with community.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Take a look at the calendar below and start planning your week. We'd love to see you there!

Marambangbilang! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค
