Mindfulness activity – finger breathing – Australian version.
Here is a free link to a mindful breathing activity, which is great to start at the beginning of a lesson or at the end of lesson. Once children learn the activity, they can use it to manage their own anxiety. Thanks for listening!

Here's a lesson plan that integrates The Boy Who Grew Flowers by Jen Wojtowicz with Morgan and Albrecht’s Ecological Model of Mindfulness. It’s designed to foster emotional awareness, interconnectedness, and environmental kindness in children, using storytelling as a gateway to deeper reflection and hands-on learning. https://www.academia.edu/143413074/Lesson_Plan_Growing_Kindness_and_Connection_

Our model of Ecological Mindfulness integrates contemplative practice with nature immersion to cultivate a deep, embodied connection to the environment. Rooted in deep ecology, the model expands self-identity beyond the ego to embrace all life. Key components include mindful nature connection, non-materialism, and acts of environmental kindness, transforming internal awareness into pro-environmental behaviours. It equips individuals to cope with ecological crises, foster compassion, and engage in social and environmental activism. Educational applications demonstrate its capacity to inspire long-term lifestyle change. This model reframes ecological education as an experiential journey toward unity with nature, promoting both inner transformation and outer action.
