Simon Fieldhouse (73) attended Government House last week, where the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, presented one of his 3D portraits to Lieutenant Commander Rob Valler RAN, who served as an Aide-de-Camp to the Governor.

For the occasion, Simon specifically wore the Barker College tie with the Aboriginal painting motifs which was a gift from Philip Heath AM. He shared where the tie had come from with several people at Government House and was proud to be wearing it on such a special occasion.

Caity Plummer (Class of 2015) continues her impressive rise in Music Theatre in her first leading role as Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, following a major season with Opera Australia’s Sunset Boulevard across Australia and Southeast Asia.

In the Sydney production of Fiddler on the Roof, critics have praised the sweetness, strength and emotional depth of her performances. In her role as Chava, she is the youngest of Tevye’s three eldest daughters, whose choices in love and marriage increasingly challenge their father’s devotion to tradition. In Act II, Caity astonishes on the clarinet in a symbolic contest between tradition and the future, capturing the heartfelt conflict at the centre of this enduring musical.

⛳ BARKER ALUMNI GOLF DAY 2026 // Alumni, parents, and friends of the Barker community came together for a day of golf, connection, and friendly competition. With attendees spanning the Class of 1963 through to the Class of 2017, it was wonderful to see so many generations of Barker reconnect on and off the course.

Beyond the classroom, Len Nixon played an important role in Barker's pastoral life, including many years supporting students in The Avenue and serving as a Tutor.

For countless students, Len was a trusted mentor, adviser and steady presence during their school years.
