Learn to draw like the old masters... Here are some studies by Tutor Krista's students based on the techniques used by John Singer Sargent. His fluid and bold use of charcoal created expressive, iconic portraits and our students benefited hugely from studying his techniques.
Limited places are still available for classes starting this week!

Want to learn how to draw? Limited places are still available starting this week! Saturdays at Hornsby are online and in studio.
Students from Tutor Krista's classes learn fundamental drawing techniques that allow them to express themselves in a variety of ways. These atmospheric landscape drawings were completed with charcoal and graphite.

In our exciting “Learn from the Masters” term, kids will initially explore iconic styles from Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Amedeo Modigliani, Paul Cézanne and more.

They then choose their favourite master and create a major original work inspired by that style — building advanced visual skills and a standout portfolio piece along the way.

Give them the visual thinking skills that last a lifetime: sharper observation, stronger creativity, better problem-solving, and a refined “eye” for what looks right — essential in today’s design-led, visually-driven world.

These foundations support success in any future path — from art, design and animation to science, tech, business, medicine or beyond

This term, our intermediate students explored Surrealism through imaginative, dreamlike paintings full of colour, symbolism, and unexpected ideas.

Each artwork reflects their creativity, confidence, and willingness to experiment. We’re so proud of what they created !
