Role Description: The High-Risk Trainer and Assessor is a full-time, on-site role based in Hoppers Crossing, VIC. This position is responsible for planning and delivering high-risk work training, including forklift and related equipment courses, in accordance with regulatory and RTO standards. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating classroom and practical sessions, providing clear safety instructions, supervising hands-on assessments, and maintaining accurate training and assessment records. The role involves preparing learning materials, conducting learner evaluations, giving constructive feedback, and supporting learners to achieve competency in a safe manner. The Trainer and Assessor also collaborates with the broader team to continuously improve training programs, ensure compliance, and support client and student needs.
Qualifications
• Training and assessment capabilities, including a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) and experience delivering vocational education.
• High-risk work expertise, such as current high-risk work licenses (e.g., forklift) and practical experience operating forklifts, order pickers and reach trucks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex safety concepts clearly, engage diverse learners, and provide constructive feedback.
• Organizational and administrative skills to plan sessions, manage schedules, keep accurate records, and ensure compliance with RTO and regulatory requirements.
• Commitment to safety, with a sound understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and the ability to model and enforce safe work practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a training team environment and build professional relationships with clients and students.
• Prior experience in an RTO or industry-based training environment is highly regarded.
• Valid driver’s license and the right to work in Australia.
