National Science Week 2026 was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the incredible world God has created. 🌱
With this year’s theme, “Seeds of Science – Nurturing Knowledge for All,” our Year 7 Students explored seed dispersal through a design challenge, while our Year 8 Students investigated seed structure through a hands-on dissection practical.
Our Primary Students created seed shapes using recycled paper mixed with a variety of seeds, with the hope of growing butterfly-friendly flowers that nurture biodiversity.
We were also privileged to welcome Dr Paul Joyce from Adelaide University, who shared his work in translational nanomedicine and biotherapeutics, inspiring our Secondary Students to consider the exciting possibilities of a future in science.
The wider community also came together over the weekend for a successful Science Quiz Night, featuring science team building challenges, LEGO satellite building station, sherbet making, a Van de Graaff demonstration and more.
This week was a great reminder of the complexity of God’s creation and the privilege we have to explore, understand and care for the world around us.
