🏆🎉Shout out to Chan in Year 12, who received first place in the Year 11 & 12 non-fiction prose category, for the IEUQNT Literary Competition 2026📖

This year they had 1300 recipients submit works and Chan’s piece stood out amongst them. As a result Chan attended an awards evening celebrating all of the incredible winners for 2026.
Chan represented Cav Rd with pride and importantly represented himself with poise and a quiet confidence as he stood before the audience to speak.

🎤✨ Attention all students, faculty, and staff! Get ready to showcase your talents at the annual Cav Quest talent show! Auditions will be held in Week 7 of Term 3. Whether you sing, dance, perform comedy, magic, or have any unique skill, we want to see it!

⚽️Cav Road Individual Success⚽️

Recently, several of our Football Academy students have achieved outstanding success on the representative stage.

Peyton-Jo V and Alyiana L have been selected to represent Samoa at the OFC U16 Women’s Championship in Honiara, Solomon Islands, this September. The tournament also serves as a qualifying event for the 2027 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, making this a fantastic opportunity to compete at an elite international level.

In addition, Ryde J and Havier D were selected to represent Queensland at the recent U13 Metro Cup. Competing against the state's best young players, their team delivered an outstanding performance and were crowned champions.

These achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication and talent of all four students. We congratulate Havier, Ryde, Alyiana and Peyton-Jo on their success and wish Alyiana and Peyton-Jo the very best in their upcoming international campaign.

🎉Congratulations to Tyhaia M and Abbey C, who were awarded Elite certificates (the highest level of achievement), and to Alvin L, who received a Gold certificate (the second-highest level of achievement) in the recent statewide Language Teachers Association of Queensland (LTAQ) Online Speech Contest.

🧹 Join Our Team – Casual Relief Cleaners Wanted! 🏫

Cavendish Road State High School is looking to expand our Casual Relief Cleaner pool, and we'd love to hear from reliable, hardworking people who take pride in creating clean, safe and welcoming environments.

Working as part of our friendly Facilities Team, you'll help maintain our school by:
✨ Cleaning classrooms, offices, amenities and shared spaces
✨ Maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation
✨ Restocking supplies and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
✨ Safely using cleaning equipment and products
✨ Supporting your teammates to meet the operational needs of the school
⏰ Flexible casual shifts are offered as required and may include:
• Morning shifts: 4:00 am – 8:00 am
• Afternoon shifts: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Casual relief work is an excellent way to gain experience and can provide a pathway to temporary or permanent employment as opportunities arise.
