Right, guys and gals Snake season is here, and this is usually signalling by an early morning call out thatβs right at 5:12am at Mt. Rummney (just near Cambridge) for a snake in the living room. The home owner was notified when something off a coffee table was knocked over on to the tile floor. Easy capture lady watched snake until I arrived. Easy catch. The little fella was just wanting to seek some privacy in the bag.π
We need to remember that when coming into the warmer weather, snakes will be active at night. While I highly doubt this snake was active last night, definitely yesterday, the home owner had the back door open most of the day, getting that nice warm breeze in and, in her words, finally being able to dry some clothes on the line.
Remember, reptile rescue is 24/7, 7 days a week. Just bear with us as we will start to see an increase in calls over the next few weeks, usually up to 40β80 statewide a day.
For all the snake catchers, stay safe, and I have no doubt itβs going to be a massive year on the snake front.
And on a final note, with the updates on snake season, donβt be scared or worried; just be vigilant. Also, remember that snakes love to be active on your overcast days, so pick up low-lying boards and general building supplies off the ground to prevent the unlikely visitors from coming in for shelter or water.
