Congratulations to Dr Eddy Roccati and Dr Andrew Phipps on winning the international Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative challenge, Delaying Onset: Can Proteomics Inform Prevention?

They achieved first place for their research; Can Proteomics Inform Prevention? Modifiable Risk and Molecular Signatures, which showed that higher modifiable dementia‑risk burden is reflected in distinct plasma proteomic patterns, highlighting the role of RNA‑processing and stress‑related pathways.

Does where you live affect how you age?

Researchers at the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre and The University of Queensland recently published an interesting study on frailty, based on ISLAND data. Amongst other findings, they discovered that people living in rural towns and remote communities had notably higher levels of frailty than those living in regional centers.
