Someone had to say it. 👏
The Skills and Training Minister has been accused of “totally bullsh*tting” after revelations TasTAFE was considering forced redundancies for teachers in the state’s south. 👉 https://bit.ly/43qryWN

Happy Public Education Day! 🌟❤️🔥
Public education is for everyone: whoever they are, wherever they live, whatever their background, beliefs, identity or circumstances.
So whether you work in a child and family learning centre, school, college, online and distance learning, in prisons, across DECYP, or TasTAFE:
Thank you.

On the second last page, of the fourth and final budget paper the Liberal Government produced this week, is this table of cuts totalling almost $1.4B.
The heading isn’t “cuts”, of course. But we know what they mean.
These aren’t just numbers on a budget paper - they are people, friends, colleagues, and they represent the services we all rely on

Here's how members at Ulverstone Secondary College are celebrating World ESP Day this week! 💜
World ESP Day (May 16) was started by union members to recognise the often undervalued and unseen 'support staff', without who school couldn't happen!
Members push for better conditions to recognise the complex and skilled work ESPs do. We also elect our own dedicated ESP Reps, Deputy President of the union (Jo Stevens!), as well as Branch Council representatives to have our say in our union!
Want a stronger ESP voice? Get involved by having a chat with your school's Rep, an organiser, or getting in touch with the union office for support and resources! ✊

Gerard dropped by the TasTAFE Burnie Campus to have a chat with members, discuss upcoming agreement negotiations, as well as the campaign to stop further cuts to TAFE.
That smile when someone knows they've got an awesome union noticeboard. ✊🧡

Solidarity with Australian Education Union ACT members, who are gearing up for massive strike action next week!
"For years, educators have been papering over the cracks to make sure students continue to get the support they deserve. Friday’s action will make those cracks impossible to ignore."
Trying to hold together a broken system with good will is a recipe for disaster. But it doesn't stop governments from trying. It's up to educators to fight for the funding our students need. ✊
