We are the only member of the International Taekwon-Do Federation based in HOBART, TASMANIA

(not the Olympic style WTF Taekwondo or an unaligned independent Tae Kwon Do style)

The system we teach was developed by General Choi Hong Hi and is also known as the Chang Hon style which was General Choi's pen name. We teach Men, Women and Children in a dedicated Dojang with specific classes for child

ren aged 6-11 and classes each week night for mixed groups of Adults and children. The health and fitness benefits are significant with our well qualified instructors teaching using the latest scientifically proven methods to improve strength and flexibility and include High intensity interval training and yoga poses. We have a well established syllabus structure that allows students achieve the goals set in reasonable time periods. Taekwon-do can help to develop confidence and concentration through the mental and physical discipline associated with this traditional Martial Art. There is a growing body of evidence to support the premise that Taekwon-Do and Martial Arts in general assists children with their studies by providing focus skills as well as the physical benefits of regular exercise. It is of course a great way to provide Adults and Children with the confidence to deal with Bullying in the workplace and at school. Our classes are designed to be fun as well as physically challenging but each individual is encouraged to work at their comfort level. We offer the opportunity to compete at club, state, national and international level and many of our students have won National and International competition.

This will be an exciting workshop covering a number of skills including improving flexibility for kicking and dynamic fighting skills for competition. Another terrific day of gradings. Well done to our new second degree, Felix Werner, whose essay on the responsibilities of an Instructor showed his development and reflection on the subject, whose understanding of technique and history of Taekwon-Do were challenged in his theory component. But, moreover his physical performance over the three-hour grading showed his skill and ability in the Art. A well-deserved promotion. Congratulations to all the other candidates who tested yesterday, it was a long day for the assistants Wayne, Erik, Claudio and Ethan, and thanks go to Brad for acting as an additional sparring partner for Felix. The performance of the candidates was generally very good, reflecting the commitment to training and dedication of the Instructors. New challenges ahead for many for the December grading now.
