Promotion ceremony and demonstration of Black belts in Evolutionary ITF Taekwon-Do
This Sunday 7th June at 2.30pm at the Dojang of Southern ITF Taekwon-Do ( within the Buckingham Bowls Club,4-10 St Johns Ave New Town) a number of young black belts will be inducted into the rank of 1st Dan black belt by newly appointed IXth Dan Grandmaster Instructor Steven Weston.
G M Weston was appointed to the rank of IXth Dan Black Belt on the 11th April 2026 by Evolutionary ITF Taekwon-Do. He is the Vice President of this International Body and is the current President of the Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
G M Weston will accept his IXth Dan certificate from his Vth dan Instructors on Sunday as well as presenting six young black belts aged between 12 and 18 years with their 1st dan certificates.
He will also present International Expert Umpire certificates to two of his Vth Dan Instructors and one of his 2nd Dan Instructors following the course presented by G M Weston last year.
This celebratory event cements the place of Southern ITF Taekwon-Do as one of the most important members of the International Body "Evolutionary ITF Taekwon-Do" with G M Weston likely to be running International Instructor courses for students in both Australia and internationally.
Along with the presentation will be a brief demonstration of ITF Taekwon-Do by the recipients.
