The schedule of presenters for the Teaching Adaptations Symposium, to be held in Hobart on February 4-5 next year is now available. Presenters from around Australia, and internationally will discuss a range of issues associated with learning and teaching in contemporary Adaptations.

Full registration is $150, which includes morning/afternoon tea and lunch for both days.The symposium dinner is $49.50 which includes two courses. Dessert and alcoholic drinks may be purchased on the night. It will be held on Monday 4 February.


The final program for the symposium will be published on December 10th.

Postgraduate Bursaries
Five bursaries of up to $500 each are available for Australian postgraduate students to encourage greater engagement with learning and teaching issues among early career researchers. Please pass this on to your students who may be interested in attending. Applicants should email Felix Wilson ( [email protected]) with a short statement describing their research area and how attendance at the conference will benefit them, as well as the details of a referee such as a supervisor who can verify this information. Bursaries should be used to cover travel expenses, meals, and registration at the conference.

Please note that in order to minimise costs and encourage attendance this amount includes an entrée and main course but not drinks. These may be purchased at the bar during dinner.

We are very pleased to announce you can now join the Adapt Open Educational Resources Community. Once you are registered you can share learning and teaching materials with other Adaptations scholars under Creative Commons licences, which allow for free re-use.

At the moment, there are just a handful of resources, donated by the project members, but we hope this will grow as members of the community register and share (and comment and what they find useful in the repository)

One word of warning: please observe the copyright rules so that we can keep hosting this repository at the University (the guide to good practice gives ideas about how to replace or refer to copyright images, etc.)

Registration
Registration allows you to publish your own learning and teaching resources in the repository, but to do so, you must comply with relevant copyright law and provide your items under creative commons licensing. Information on the legal aspects of the repository and a guide for users is available during the registration process.

If you only want to search the repository contents and download items, there is no need to register, you can do this at http://adapt.edu.au/search
