The role of parents in language and literacy development is incredibly significant, with parents being their child's first and most influential educators.

As we celebrate UNESCO's International Literacy Day today, we look at Catholic Education Tasmania's involvement in an education sector consultation process that led to the statewide initiative called Read.Learn.TOGETHER.

This recently launched early year’s literacy initiative supports families to build children’s language and literacy skills from birth to five years – a period of extraordinary cognitive growth and development.

🌟 Teacher Assistant Appreciation Week 🌟

Our Teacher Assistants play such an important role in our school community. Through their care, patience, encouragement and dedication they all support our students each and every day. They create calm, safe and positive environments, that support our students to thrive!

We are so grateful for the difference you make in the lives of our students and the support you provide to our teachers and school community.

Today, four of our students put their mathematical minds to the test as they participated in the Southern Schools Maths Relay! ➕✖️➗

In the lead up to the event, our students dedicated time to preparing, practising their problem solving skills and working together as a team.

A special thank you to Miss Lack and Mrs Mahony, who supported and prepared our students. Your time, encouragement and dedication helped build their confidence and ensure they were ready to give it a go!

We are so proud of their teamwork, enthusiasm and willingness to take on this exciting challenge. Well done, team! 👏

✨ BOOK WEEK PARADE 2026! ✨

What a wonderful morning celebrating the magic of books and reading at our Book Week Parade! 📖💫

Our students looked absolutely fantastic, bringing their favourite book characters to life with creativity, imagination and plenty of Book Week spirit! Our wonderful staff also joined in the fun with their nursery rhyme classics.

We loved seeing the excitement, smiles and incredible costumes across our school community. A huge thank you to Mrs Kirk and our wonderful families for helping make the day so special. We hope you enjoy these little snapshots of our Book Week celebrations! 📚🌟

Book Week has officially begun at Immaculate Heart!

To kick off the celebrations, our students visited Fullers today to select some wonderful new books for our school library! 📖✨

We had a lovely hour exploring the shelves, getting lost in new stories and discovering fascinating facts. We can’t wait to see these new books enjoyed by our students!
