Human libraries are used around the world as a simple way for people to build understanding and face their prejudices.
The Hobart Human Library is just like any other library... the only difference is that the books are real, living people! Our ‘books’ are skilled community educators who share their stories about experiencing stereotyping, prejudice or discrimination - perhaps because of their culture, gender, religion, sexual orientation, appearance or wellness. The library sets up a comfortable space for people to ‘read’ the stories that the ‘books’ have to tell and speak informally, in a supported environment, about the issues that they touch on.
The #HobartHumanLibrary can be booked for public or private events. It is well suited to schools (for #HumanRightsEducation, #ValuesEducation or #DiversityEducation) and workplaces (for #DiversityAndInclusionTraining).
The Hobart Human Library is a project of #AFairerWorld. To make a booking or get more information, get in touch: (03) 6223 1025 or [email protected]
