The countdown to Dark M**o is officially on, and the THTA are ready to embrace the dark! 🩸
You may have noticed we’ve temporarily switched our logo to a deep crimson, and if you happen to pass our HQ in Battery Point at night, you’ll see our windows are glowing with a fresh splash of red lighting.
Why? Because we are officially joining Paint The Town Red!
Brought to you by Southern Tasmania, this is an open invitation for local businesses, venues, and the community to bring the Dark M**o spirit alive across the state. Whether it’s as simple as swapping out a lightbulb, creating a themed crimson menu, or going all out with a creative storefront display, it’s all about showing off our world-class Tassie hospitality.

We love showing off the hard work of our incredible facilitators and participants! 🏆
We were thrilled to welcome the Honourable Jane Howlett MP to the academy recently. It was a fantastic opportunity for the Minister to see firsthand how the THTA delivers industry-led training that prepares people to be shift-ready and grow within hospitality and tourism. Being owned by and connected to the industry, for the industry through the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania and Hospitality Tasmania, means everything we teach is designed to help our local Tasmanian venues and events thrive.
Thank you, Minister Howlett, for dropping by, speaking with our team, and backing the training that counts!
Tasmanian Hospitality & Tourism Academy is owned by industry through the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania and Hospitality Tasmania.
I was please to get out and meet with facilitators and students of the Events Skill Program to see how the organisation continues to deliver industry-led training to grow workforce attraction and build the profile of careers in the industry.
