The TGEI team has been busy on the road, actively connecting with agent partners, students and families across Vietnam and Thailand.

Through workshops, exhibitions and one-on-one consultations, we shared the latest updates on Tasmanian Government education programs, answered questions, and explored exciting opportunities for future collaboration in 2027 and beyond.

With high-quality education, welcoming communities and a safe, supportive environment, Tasmania continues to offer international students the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve their goals. We look forward to strengthening our partnerships across the region and supporting more students on their education journey.

Seven Tasmanian Year 12 students from Elizabeth, Hobart, Rosny, Don, and Hellyer Colleges recently returned from an incredible experience in Switzerland, where they took part in the 31st AFS Youth Assembly, a global youth leadership forum hosted at the World Health Organization and delivered in partnership with the United Nations.

The students joined young people from around the world to discuss leadership, education, sustainability and the future, while proudly representing Tasmania on the global stage.

One of the highlights came on the final day when delegates were invited to wear national attire. Our students chose a uniquely Tasmanian approach and proudly wore Tasmania Devils jerseys.

A huge thank you to the Tasmania Football Club for generously providing the jerseys.

It was a proud moment to see these young Tasmanians representing their state at an international forum while wearing the colours of a new Tasmanian institution whose purpose is to "Honour the Map. Inspire the Future."

We are incredibly proud of these students and the way they represented Tasmania, sharing their ideas, learning from others and building connections with young leaders from around the world.

Launceston College's international students recently travelled to Hobart for an overnight excursion, bringing together both new and continuing students for a fantastic opportunity to connect, explore and experience more of Tasmania.

The trip included visits to Mt Field National Park and Curringa Farm, where students fed Highland cattle and alpacas, spotted wallabies in the conservation forest and met two newborn lambs.

From stunning natural landscapes to hands-on farm experiences, the excursion offered students the chance to strengthen friendships, learn more about Tasmania and create lasting memories together.

Last Friday, we said farewell to the students from the 2026 Kinmen County Study Tour after three rewarding weeks of learning, exploration, and cultural exchange in North-West Tasmania.

Throughout the program, students immersed themselves in school life, built new friendships, strengthened their English language skills, and shared their culture with local school communities. They also explored some of Tasmania's iconic attractions while creating memories that will last well beyond the program.

A sincere thank you to the schools, staff, host families, buddies, and program coordinators whose support and dedication made this exchange possible. The friendships, memories, and global connections formed during the program will continue long after the students return home.

What a fantastic way to start August! We’ve loved welcoming 20 study tour students from Taiwan, hosted by the wonderful team at Elizabeth College.

Through shared experiences, new friendships and cultural exchange, students have gained fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of life in Tasmania.

These experiences highlight the power of international education, bringing young people together to learn from one another, challenge their thinking and build connections that extend far beyond the classroom. It’s inspiring to see global friendships forming and confidence growing through meaningful cultural exchange.

We were delighted to showcase Tasmania’s North and Northwest communities and schools, giving our Taiwanese partners a broader statewide perspective and opening doors for future collaboration.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen the Tasmania-Taiwan relationship and creating even more opportunities for students to connect, learn and create lifelong memories.

We are excited to welcome 39 students from Kinmen County, Taiwan, to Tasmania for their 2026 Study Tour.

The group kicked off their visit by exploring some of Southern Tasmania's iconic attractions, including the historic Port Arthur Historic Site and a hands-on farm stay experience, where students met local animals and enjoyed feeding activities.

With Term 3 now underway, students have started their three-week study immersion program at Tasmanian Government high schools in the North-West. We're looking forward to seeing new friendships form, cultural connections grow, and unforgettable memories made along the way.

A warm welcome to our new international students joining us for Term 3,2026!

Our Student Services team recently hosted orientation sessions in Tasmania, helping students settle into their new schools, homestays, and communities. From navigating daily life and understanding school expectations to learning about wellbeing, safety, and support services, orientation is the first step in a successful study experience.

We wish all our new students an amazing start and look forward to seeing them make the most of their Tasmanian adventure.
