NEW online PD Sessions!

Are you new to secondary Geography teaching? Or just wanting to brush up on core geographical skills? Perhaps you want to know more about spiral curriculum frameworks and how you can ensure your students are taught geographical skills repeatedly throughout the curriculum, but with deepening layers of complexity, or in different applications.

If so, these online Geography PD Sessions are for you!

The PD will be delivered in two sessions:

Session 1 - Wednesday 16th August and
Session 2 - Thursday 24th August 2023.

You may choose to attend either or both sessions.

Session 1 (Wednesday 16th August) is aimed at out of field teachers and focuses on the essential geography skills. This webinar will also suggest some tips and tricks on how some skills could be incorporated into learning activities and units of work, as well as how they could be modelled to students.

Session 2 (Thursday 24th August) focuses on the bigger picture of Geography Education from year 7 through to year 12. A Spiral Curriculum Framework ensures that students are exposed to all of the required skills throughout their learning journey and that they are scaffolded and built upon each year.

Date & Time:

Session 1 - Wednesday 16th August (3:45pm - 4:45pm)
Session 2 - Thursday 24th August (3:45pm - 4:45pm)

Cost:
TGTA Members: $10 per session or $15 for both
Non-TGTA Members: $25 per session or $40 for both

We have had some amazing dolphin encounters over the past week on our wilderness cruises with some awesome images taken. We love this acrobatic pic from Nick from a recent Tasman Island Cruises.
