This morning we headed to our favourite nature spot, it is usually dry and full of foliage, however to our delight all this rain we've been having has created a "River" -Miss P

The children loved playing in the rain, it created a sense of wonder and imagination as they explored and engaged all their senses.

The children used and improved their motor skills, questioned scince - as they watched the leaves and sticks run down the stream, as they threw big and small rocks and watched the rain drops fall. They pondered on questions like: How did the rain create this creek?
They become fascinated with the millipedes and tried to count their legs and questioned why do we see so many millipedes when it rains and not so many when it is hot. -

The children connected to nature during all weather, improving their connection with nature as they plag. Never underestimate the learning that occurs during play.
The children are learning- they are learning about water through their chosen method of playing in it.

As children engage in chalk creations, they are learning creativity, the process of chalk, relaxation and discovery.

Concepts that are the foundation for healthy, emotional and cognitive development.

Today all our minds, bodies and spirits benefited from playing at the park.

A system that was designed to label a child as "ahead" or "behind" is not a system that was designed with the best interest and knowledge of children in mind.

Our children are all unique individuals with curious, imaginative, creative minds. Each one fully capable of learning exactly what they need when they need it.

Any parent with multiple children will tell you that no two children are the same. So how could we ever expect to create an effective system that treats every child as if they were exactly that?

It's impossible.

When we take away the individuality of our children, we essentially take away their humanity. Along with it, we take their drive and passion for learning that they are born with, which is the biggest travesty of all.

Parents, no matter what anyone says, do not ever believe the lie that your child should be somewhere or someone other than exactly who they are right in this moment.

Do not waste thoughts about where your child "should" be - and focus instead on the unique beauty of where they ARE.

If you're feeling that pressure right now, pause all other thoughts and just watch your child for a day or two. Pay attention to their unique talents, the special ways they communicate with you and others, the amazing things they are so very capable of doing already.

I promise you will feel comfort and relief in seeing the truly incredible human that stands in front of you. πŸ’š

Today has been incredible Sam and I are so grateful to be able to celebrate another year with you all.
Thank you for your continued support, we learn so much from you and your children each and everyday.
There are so many choices out there and you have singled us out and chosen us and that means more then words could ever describe. We want to express how much we appreciate you, your family and the friendships that have been formed.
We truly have something special.
For those that celebrated with us today and those that couldn't make it. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

All our love and Merry Christmas.

Today I attended a 8hr professional development/parenting course that discussed the neuroscience of child and teenage brains, why they behave and respond the way they do; developmental stages; caregiver connectedness; and then we looked at how we as adults perceive and manage our own stress and utilise coping techniques as when we self manage well, we can respond more effectively. We linked neuroscience to neurological mirroring and rewiring using Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy techniques- which essentially means spending a really nice afternoon doing medically accredited mindfulness techniques which will help us respond better for better outcomes and less caregiver stress.

Thank you for providing such an amazing day.

I highly recommend this course to anyone with children.
