Yesterday, at Bentleigh West Primary School, we enjoyed learning strategies to help students improve their reading and comprehension skills. The course was led by Ron Yoshimoto, an expert in literacy using the Orton-Gillingham method for dyslexic learners :)

🤩Decodable readers enable children to improve their decoding, word recognition and reading skills rather than developing unhelpful strategies like guessing or looking at the pictures to figure out what the words could be. We love them at Learning Works🤩

🤩 Hands-on learning sparks higher levels of engagement and interest in maths.

Individualised maths intervention that uses manipulatives focuses on building up children's maths skills in a fun way 🤩

If working out maths sums at home, cereal, lollies, and pencils will do the trick. Manipulates don't have to be fancy to be effective ➕➖➗✖️
