Please stop calling Autistic people fussy with food or drink. For me it isn't being fussy, it is a physical repulsion to certain types of food or beverages due to sensory or traumatic issues. I wouldn't expect you to eat toe nails, so don't expect me to eat casserole.

For instance I like raw carrots, or caramelised fried carrots, or carrot soup, but I'm repulsed by stewed carrots because of the texture.

And if you think you can't get trauma from food or drink, then you try sitting in the middle of a hall, while everyone laughs at you for not drinking your milk when you're 8 years old, and you feel like the biggest freak because you questioned why a human drinks baby cows milk. I often asked questions that adults didn't have answers to, so I would be punished for my insubordination 😔

Not every banana, or apple, or tomato tastes the same, so there is an anxiety attached to eating fresh food, because of the unpredictable nature of unripe, ripe and gone bad. But ready salted crisps, will always taste like ready salted crisps (chips for the Americans)
