Partnership and Passion // We proudly congratulate Prep students Elsie and Alma on being named the Grand Winners of the inaugural Mary MacKillop Spirituality Ministry Art Competition.

This National competition invited students from across the country in Prep to Year 12 to reflect on the legacy of Mary MacKillop and bring her story to life through their art to celebrate 160 years of Josephite Education in Australia.

Elsie and Alma's winning artwork beautifully captured the spirit of Mary MacKillop, featuring Australian animals, children and the alphabet in a creative celebration of faith, learning and community.

Congratulations, Elsie and Alma, on this wonderful achievement.

Perseverance // Today our Prep to Year 4 students enjoyed an exciting visit from NED's Resiliency Ride!

With a blend of humour, storytelling and amazing yo-yo performances, NED delivered an engaging presentation that shared a powerful message about never giving up, encouraging others and doing your best.

It was a fun and memorable experience that helped reinforce the value of resilience while reminding students to believe in themselves and approach challenges with confidence.

Thank you to the NED team for a fantastic visit and for helping our students grow their confidence and resilience.

Partnership // We were honoured to be part of the Queensland First Nations Catholic Education Conference 2026, Heart on Country: Weaving Culture, Faith and Learning, hosted by Toowoomba Catholic Schools.

With more than 250 attendees from across Australia, the conference brought together educators, leaders, communities and organisations united in their commitment to strengthening outcomes for First Nations students.

Representing our College were Principal Mr Chris Gabbett alongside Ms Cowen and Mrs Lopez from our First Nations and Diversity Group (FNDG) and Year 11 student Lennox who was also invited to join the Conference Forum Panel to share his experiences and insights.

Thank you to TCSO for hosting such an inspiring few days of connection, learning and collaboration. We are grateful for the meaningful conversations, valuable insights and collective commitment to creating positive outcomes for First Nations students and communities.

Practical Action // As part of our Mary MacKillop Feast Day celebrations, twenty brave Mary Mac students took part in the World's Greatest Shave, showing extraordinary compassion and commitment in support of Australians living with blood cancer.

These remarkable students put their hair on the line to raise both vital funds and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation. Thanks to their generosity and the overwhelming support from our College community, the team raised an outstanding $14,450 in donations! Thank you to our amazing volunteer hairdressers who came in to assist. Shout out to Tanya Cowell Hair Boutique, Marcelle Argus and Kas Hair and co. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We couldn't be prouder of our students for their willingness to make a real difference and support those impacted by blood cancer. The World's Greatest Shave is fast becoming a cherished Mary Mac tradition, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, encouraged and supported our team.

Passion and Possibilities // Our Senior drama students recently took to the stage as part of The Scene Project, proudly presenting their unique interpretation of this year's commissioned script, Icarus.

Throughout the term, students collaborated, devised and rehearsed an original 15-minute performance, exploring ensemble storytelling and creative expression. They then joined schools from across Queensland to share their work in a professional theatre setting, alongside a performance by Queensland Theatre Company.

An incredible opportunity for our students to grow as performers and storytellers, collaborate with fellow creatives and experience the excitement of working in a professional theatre environment.
