🎺Jazz and Saxophone Ensemble🎷

Our talented Jazz and Saxophone Ensemble students performed for a fantastic audience at the Meringandan State School 150th celebration over the weekend. We're so proud of our students and how they continue to represent HSSC with pride. Many thanks to the Meringandan SS staff and P&C committee who extended the invitation for us to perform, and congratulations on a hugely successful day!

Year 10 SET Plan Meetings
All Year 10 students are required to participate in the Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan process, including an individual meeting with their parents/ carer and a staff member. This is a vital step in helping students make informed decisions about their future education, training, and career pathways.
To facilitate this, we will be holding individual SET Plan meetings from Wednesday, 2 September to Friday, 4 September 2026. These meetings will take place at the school and will involve key staff members, including:
Deputy Principal (DP): Mrs Kate Van Der Meulen
Senior Schooling Head of Department (SSHOD): Mrs Jo Beil
Guidance Officer (GO): Mr Joel Currie
Each meeting will run for approximately 30 - 45 minutes and will provide an opportunity for students and parents/caregivers to discuss subject selections, career aspirations, and any additional support required to ensure a successful transition into senior schooling.

2027 Year 11 Subject Information Expo

All Year 10s, and their parents/carers, are invited to attend the 2027 Year 11 Subject Information Expo on Monday, 31st August. Subject displays will be hosted by staff in the Stadium from 3:15pm – 5pm and an additional Senior Schooling Information Session will be held in the PAC from 5pm – 5:45pm.
Any families intending to enrol for Year 11 in 2027 are also welcome to attend

⚽🏆 **A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Open Boys Football team!** 🏆⚽

What a night! In freezing, wet and miserable conditions, the boys fought incredibly hard to come away with a **narrow 1–0 victory over a quality Centenary Heights team**. 💪🌧️

Christian provided a **top-class finish** early in the game after a fantastic counter-attacking passing sequence involving Ty, Ryan and Lane. ⚡⚽

At the other end of the pitch, Dylan remained **unbeaten in goals**, not conceding a single goal throughout the entire tournament! 🧤👏 A huge part of that achievement goes to the defensive line of Coen, Luke, Jack, Tom, Peter and Caddock, who were outstanding. 🔒💪

A **massive thank you to all of our staff and students** who braved the freezing, wet conditions to come down and support the boys. ❤️💙

The boys were incredibly appreciative of the support from their staff and peers, and having everyone there cheering them on is a memory they will **keep forever**. 🙌

Congratulations, boys — what an achievement! **We are so proud of you!** ⚽🏆👏
