Behind the scenes, students and staff have been working hard to prepare for this year's original production of The Performer, written and directed by Dr Asher Johnson.

From rehearsals to costumes, choreography, staging, and technical production, months of creativity and collaboration are coming together for what promises to be a memorable theatrical experience.

CONGRATULATIONS MR BROWN | This week we celebrate a remarkable achievement for a remarkable educator.

Former TCC Principal Richard Brown has been awarded the honorary title of Fellow of the University by the University of Southern Queensland in recognition of his distinguished career in education and service to the community.

During 30 years as Principal of Toowoomba Christian College, Richard led the College through significant growth while remaining committed to its founding vision of nurturing young people in character, faith, and learning. We thank him for his faithful leadership, steadfast service, and enduring contribution to the life of our College community.

2026 MINI COMMONWEALTH GAMES | TCC Primary students and staff gathered for a Mini Commonwealth Games celebration, inspired by the spirit of the recent Commonwealth Games.

The morning was filled with energy, encouragement, and plenty of fun as students took part in a range of creative events, including balance bike cycling, Chookelin (javelin throwing with a plastic chook), power walking, 4 x 4 basketball, and Lacrosselin (javelin throwing using a lacrosse stick and ball).

While the events brought plenty of laughter, they also provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone to celebrate physical activity, community spirit, and the values of the Commonwealth Games.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing students encourage one another, celebrate each other's efforts, and enthusiastically participate alongside their peers and teachers.

Thank you to all staff and students who contributed to making the day such a memorable occasion.

YEAR 8 INFORMATION EVENING | This week we had the pleasure of welcoming our 2027 Year 8 students and their families to an evening of exploration and connection.

Families were able to interact with teachers at the various subject booths, hear from our Secondary leadership team, and chat with key staff. It was fantastic to see families actively engaging in what lies ahead for their young people.

Evenings like this remind us how valuable it is to partner with parents, building confidence in students and clarity for families as we take this next step together.

Thank you to everyone who came along. We look forward to continuing the journey in 2027, walking alongside both students and families as they step into this exciting new stage of secondary life.

AUGUSTINE RETREAT | Recently, our Year 12 students participated in the annual Augustine Retreat, a cherished milestone in their final year at TCC.

Set against the natural beauty of Camp Cooby, students embraced a day of purposeful silence, reflection, prayer and contemplation, stepping away from the distractions of everyday life to focus on their identity, faith and future. From sunrise to sunset, they were invited to reflect on their purpose, God's presence in creation, and the opportunities and responsibilities that await them beyond school.

Throughout the day, students experienced the value of slowing down, listening deeply and creating space for personal and spiritual growth. The retreat provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen faith, deepen self-awareness and consider what it means to live with purpose.

As the day concluded with a stunning sunset, students left with a renewed appreciation for reflection, faith and the importance of nurturing their mind, body and spirit.

Thank you to our Year 12 students for embracing this long-standing TCC tradition with openness and commitment.

Evan Setiawan, Class of 2003, shared his remarkable journey from arriving in Australia as a young migrant student to performing on some of the nation's biggest stages as a professional violinist.

From representing Australia at World Expos and performing for national leaders, to touring internationally and inspiring the next generation through music education, Evan reflects on the doors God has opened throughout his life and career.

YEAR 4 BREAD MAKING | As part of their Technologies studies, Year 4 students recently stepped into the world of bread making, discovering firsthand how simple ingredients can be transformed into something delicious.

From mixing and kneading the dough to shaping their own individual rolls, students experienced each stage of the process while developing practical skills and exploring the science behind baking. The activity also provided opportunities to learn about food production, design processes, and the importance of following instructions carefully.

Of course, the highlight was enjoying the freshly baked bread straight from the oven.

SECONDARY ATHLETICS CARNIVAL | Our Secondary Athletics Carnival was held over two fantastic days of competition filled with community and House spirit.

After a term of practice sessions, trials, and qualification events, students took to the track and field ready to give their best. Despite some rain on Day One, the carnival provided plenty of memorable moments, strong performances, and enthusiastic support from the sidelines.

It was wonderful to see the school community come together, with students demonstrating determination, encouragement, and sportsmanship throughout.

Congratulations to Lewis House on securing their first major carnival victory since 2022. A well-deserved achievement and a special milestone for the House. 💛🎉

Thank you to all staff who contributed their time and effort to make the carnival such a success and to the many parents who came out to cheer on and contribute to the carnival atmosphere.
