“I wish I could work with dogs.”

Maybe you’ve said it before.

Maybe working with dogs is your dream career — but you’ve filed it away under *“someday”* because you don’t have the right background, you’ve already built a career somewhere else, or you simply don’t know where to start.

Here’s what we’ve learned after training hundreds of canine therapists:

There isn’t one type of person who finds their way into this work.

Some come from healthcare or the animal industry. Many come from completely different careers.

What they have in common is a genuine desire to help dogs live happier, healthier and longer lives. 🐾

If you’ve been wondering whether canine therapies could be a path for you, start by exploring what it actually looks like.

🎥 Our FREE 5-part video series takes you inside the world of canine rehabilitation, the growing need for qualified therapists, and the pathways into this work.

Your first step is free.

One puppy changed everything. 🐾

When Michelle adopted Toby, she never imagined he would inspire Australia’s first canine rehabilitation clinic — and help shape an entire profession.

Watching Toby swim sparked a simple question:

Why was rehabilitation transforming human lives, but not dogs’?

That question became a movement. Today, more than 650 therapists across 16 countries have been trained to help dogs live longer, happier, healthier lives.

And it all started with one dog — and the willingness to ask, “Why isn’t anyone doing this for dogs?”

If you’ve ever wondered whether your love of dogs could become meaningful work, this is where the story begins.

Confidence doesn’t come from memorising techniques—it comes from understanding when and how to apply them.

That’s exactly what this graduate experienced through CHWA.

Our courses are designed to combine evidence-based theory with practical, hands-on learning, helping students develop the confidence to assess, reason, and treat with purpose. Along the way, you’ll become part of a supportive community that encourages growth every step of the journey.

If you’re ready to build practical skills in Canine Hydrotherapy or Canine Remedial Massage, we’d love to help you take the next step.

Every student’s journey into canine therapy is different.

Some come with years of experience in animal health. Others simply have a deep love for dogs and a desire to make a difference.

One of the things we’re most proud of at CHWA is bringing people from a wide range of backgrounds together in one supportive learning community—where everyone is encouraged to grow, ask questions, and build genuine confidence in their skills.

As Tara shared:

“The course was applicable to both people like me with more advanced animal medicine learning as well as general animal lovers from different educational backgrounds. I feel more educated and comfortable to be able to combine this knowledge with my prior learning to offer services to paying clients with confidence.”

Thank you, Tara, for being part of our community and for sharing your journey. 💙

No matter where you’re starting from, you don’t have to walk the path alone.

✨ Student Feedback ✨

"The workshop was fantastic to be in clinic with Michelle and put all of the pieces of the puzzle together." — Naomi

Learning canine rehabilitation isn't just about watching videos or memorising techniques.

It's about developing the confidence to connect theory with practical application.

Our in-person workshops are designed to bring everything together—helping students refine their hands-on skills, deepen their clinical understanding, and learn directly alongside Michelle in a supportive environment.

It's often the moment where everything just clicks.

If you're looking for education that goes beyond theory and prepares you for real-world practice, we'd love to welcome you into the CHWA community.

“I’ve overcomplicated the whole process.”

Sound familiar?

This came up at a recent in-person canine massage workshop — and it’s one of the biggest reasons students hold themselves back from working with dogs.

“I expected I’d need to study the dogs, take photos, look at the gait, look up things online. It feels like it would take hours.”

But here’s the thing: getting your hands on dogs IS how you build the skills. The theory is foundational, but confidence comes from doing.

That’s why we’ve built multiple live components into our canine massage and hydrotherapy certifications — including virtual anatomy and assessment workshops with your own dog, plus a 2-day in-person case intensive.

One of the questions I hear most often is:

“What does life actually look like after graduation?”

For Sarah, it looked like building a career she genuinely loves.

In less than 12 months after graduating with dual certification in Canine Hydrotherapy and Canine Remedial Massage, she was:

🐾 Employed as a Hydrotherapist at one of our Partner Clinics in New Zealand

🐾 Running her own mobile canine massage business

🐾 Volunteering her skills to help dogs at her local rescue shelter

What I love most about Sara’s story is that she didn’t choose just one path.

She created a career that combined employment, business ownership, and giving back to dogs in need.

Three different opportunities.

One set of skills.

Watch Sara share her journey and why becoming a canine therapist was one of the best decisions she made.

From learning anatomy for the first time to preparing to launch her own canine massage business! 💙🐾

When Donna began her Canine Remedial Massage journey, she had no prior anatomy knowledge and wondered if she could learn it all.

Like many students, she soon discovered that with the right guidance, support, and persistence, everything gradually started to come together.

What stood out most for Donna was learning the practical application of massage techniques and seeing how these skills can improve the health, comfort, and wellbeing of dogs. She describes the course as the highest quality online course available, praising Michelle’s world-class knowledge and the incredible support provided throughout the Academy.

Now, Donna is taking the next step toward her dream of helping dogs by planning to launch Gentle Paws K9 Massage in Auckland, New Zealand, while continuing her studies and expanding her skills.

Her story is a reminder that you don’t need prior experience to make a meaningful difference—you just need a passion for learning and helping dogs.

Congratulations, Donna! We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make in the lives of dogs and their owners. 💙

Your dog may be your best friend — but dogs don’t always show discomfort in obvious ways.

Learning canine hydrotherapy or remedial massage can help you better understand movement, comfort, and support, while building practical skills in canine health and wellbeing.

If you’ve ever thought about working with dogs or learning how to support them more professionally, comment START and we’ll send the CHWA course pathway.

Confidence is built through animal contact — structured, supported, and safe.
Of course, the theoretical foundation matters, but it can’t replace the experience of actually working with animals.

That’s why we’ve designed our certifications to provide you with:
-Theory lessons you can complete on your own time
-LIVE (virtual) hands-on workshops that consolidate it
-A 2-day IN-PERSON case-intensive workshop

So our graduates enter clinical settings prepared from day one.
