Today the children at Goodstart Early Learning Dundowran were fortunate to receive a visit from two wonderful representatives from Bunnings, who generously donated a selection of bush tucker plants for our garden. The children eagerly participated as our visitors introduced the plants, explaining their names, how tall they can grow, and which parts are edible. The discussion sparked great curiosity, with children listening attentively and asking thoughtful questions.
The experience was highly interactive, providing children with the opportunity to take an active role in planting the bush tucker garden. They assisted with digging holes, carefully placing the plants into the soil, and watering them once planted. Through this hands-on involvement, children developed an understanding of the care required to help plants grow and thrive.
This was a valuable learning experience that fostered children's connection to the land and encouraged respect for the natural environment. By learning about native bush tucker plants and their significance, children were able to deepen their understanding of Australia's natural heritage and develop an appreciation for sustainable practices.
