QISSN Coaching Clinic 🏐

Today, our QISSN team had the exciting opportunity to participate in a specialised training session with Baylee Boyd. As a player for Sunshine Coast Lightning, Baylee shared her expertise, skills, and experiences, providing valuable insights and practical coaching to support our players' continued growth and development. We are incredibly grateful for her time and guidance, and our team is eager to put their new knowledge and skills into practice both at training and on the court.

Scratch competition.

Our Year 2 students proudly represented St James Lutheran College at the Fraser Coast Technology Alliance Scratch Challenge, hosted by Kawungan State School.

After participating in an engaging eSafety workshop, students used Scratch to create stories and animations that shared important online safety messages. Their creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, communication and digital literacy skills were on full display throughout the day.

We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and the learning they gained while connecting with students from across the Fraser Coast.
A big thank you to Kawungan State School and the Fraser Coast Technology Alliance for providing such a valuable and inspiring learning experience.

🌟 Jimmy’s Gems 🌟

Today, we celebrated the very first of our Jimmy’s Gems. After working hard all term to earn and bank their Jimmy’s Gems Cards, today, the top four students from each year level in Yr 7 - 12 attended a surprise excursion to the Esplanade for Hot Chips and and Ice-Cream on us. These students have been exemplary this term with attendance, uniform, behaviour and demonstrating our LIGHT values in all that they do.

Congratulations Gems, we hope you keep shining bright and enjoyed your hot chips and ice-cream today, even if the weather was a little gloomy 🤣

Our students had the opportunity to participate in the 2026 UniSC Health Experience Day, an engaging and interactive experience designed to showcase the diverse range of careers within the health sector. Throughout the day, students took part in hands-on workshops exploring Prosthetics and Orthotics, Hand Hygiene and Germs, Midwifery, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and Dietetics and Nutrition. Students gained valuable insights into each profession through practical activities and real-world scenarios.

The experience also included a panel discussion and Q&A session, where health professionals and university representatives shared their career journeys, study pathways, and advice, providing students with a deeper understanding of the many opportunities available within the healthcare industry.
