📚✨ What a wonderful morning at our new Hervey Bay Library! ✨📚

Today we enjoyed our special Library Play Date and attended the exciting Aussie Mozzie, Ozzy! show! 🦟🇦🇺

We were lucky enough to see Craig Smith, author of The Wonky Donkey, and Deano Yipadee, creator of the much-loved Nee Naw books, come together to share their new collaboration, Aussie Mozzie, Ozzy! 🎶📖

Of course, we couldn’t leave without adding a few more Nee Naw books to our collection — including some Christmas stories that we’ll be saving for some special festive learning and fun later in the year! 🎄🚒📚 Keep an eye out for these making an appearance soon! Of course, Miss Helena and Miss Nicky couldn’t wait and had to have a little nosy peek at our new books while exploring all the amazing spaces in the new library! 👀📚🥰

A huge thank you to the families who joined us and shared in the fun today. 💕 Opportunities like this are such a lovely way to strengthen our partnerships with families and connect our children’s learning between the centre, home and our wider community.

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

💜 Safe sleep is everyone's responsibility, and it's always a priority.

🌱💚 **Growing Green in Kindy 2!** ♻️🌏

Over the past month, our Kindy 2 children have been busy discovering how **little hands can make a big difference!**

From sorting recycling and learning about composting, to investigating nature with magnifying glasses, caring for our new vegetable garden and discovering why worms are so important — sustainability has been coming to life through lots of hands-on learning. 🪱🥕🔍

It has been wonderful to see the children asking questions, sharing their ideas and taking responsibility for caring for the world around them.

We are so proud of our little **green thinkers** as they learn that even the smallest actions can help care for our beautiful planet. 🌏🌱💚

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.
