Ice Cream Shop Open for Business!

Who says you need real ice cream to have lots of fun? Today our little chefs stepped into their very own pretend ice cream shop! 🍨

Using Play-Doh that looked just like creamy vanilla ice cream, the children carefully scooped it into ice cream tubs before adding a generous sprinkle of colourful rainbow rice as their "hundreds and thousands." 🍦

There were plenty of smiles, fun conversations, and proud little faces as they served up their delicious ice creams.
Along the way, they were building on their gross motor skills, practising coordination, exploring creativity, and developing their social skills all through the joy of play.

Last week our Kindy Rangers enjoyed making their own pizzas 🍕 building confidence in their self-help skills by carefully spreading the sauce over their dough, selecting their favourite toppings and preparing their food independently!

These experiences support their independence and help prepare them for school next year. 🏫

🍃 Explorers - Urangan 🍃

Our Urangan Explorers have been working on their gross motor development. The children have been encouraged by their familiar educators to engage in a series of arts and craft, sensory based experiences in a standing position to support their development. 🎨

Through strength, balance and coordination the children have successfully created some beautiful artwork 🖼️

Today we celebrate an amazing milestone – 6 years of dedication, loyalty, love, and care at Bay Explorers!

Over the years, Miss Becky has worked across both of our Hervey Bay services. Always showing kindness, love and a genuine passion for supporting children and our families.

Six years is a remarkable achievement and a true reflection of Miss Becky’s commitment to the Bay Explorers community!

This Thursday Bay Explorers will be taking part in Jeans for Genes Day, supporting the Children's Medical Research Institute to help find treatments and cures for childhood genetic diseases and birth defects.

Meet Miss Becky, our Urraween Toddler 1 Discoverers Lead Educator for 2026!

💜 International Friendship Day 💜

This week, as a service we celebrated international friendship day. Our Navigators and Discoverers rooms decided they would celebrate by creating ice cream bowls for their friends and educators around the service. 🍨

This experience sparked curiosity, friendship, discussions and gave the children a sense of community and belonging by being able to serve and share a delicious treat, in the warmest way, made by a special friend!
