The 800m is one of the toughest races on the program, and our runners showed real grit, determination, and school spirit from start to finish.

Awinya has surged ahead on the points tally after a brilliant day of competition, setting the stage for a massive day tomorrow. With so many events still to come, the championship is wide open and the excitement is building.

We are incredibly proud to congratulate two of our dedicated team members, Darren Jamieson and Mrs Monique Tyrrell, on being named finalists in the Archdiocesan Property and Building Services Award for Excellence in a School-Based Non-Teaching Role 👏
💚 Darren Jamieson – our amazing groundsman – works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our school grounds are always looking their very best. Through ongoing building works and constant change, Darren’s commitment, hard work, and pride in our environment never wavers. His efforts truly create a welcoming and safe space for our entire community.
💚 Mrs Monique Tyrrell – a long-standing and much-loved School Officer – continues to excel in her role, going above and beyond every single day for the students she supports. Her care, dedication, and genuine passion make a lasting difference in the lives of so many children.
Both Darren and Monique embody the spirit of service and excellence within our school community, and this recognition is so well deserved.

Yesterday, our Year 5 students took their turn to lead our family liturgy, and they did so with such reverence, confidence, and heart. It was a truly special gathering filled with prayer, reflection, and the joyful spirit that makes our school community shine.

We are so grateful to all the parents and families who joined us. Your presence enriches these moments and reminds our students how meaningful it is to share faith together.

A huge congratulations to Star of the Sea’s very own Mia Roberts on being named Hervey Bay Surf Life Saving Junior Athlete of the Year! 🏆👏
Mia continues to amaze our community with her incredible athletic ability, dedication, and commitment across multiple sports. She is a fantastic role model, consistently showing determination, sportsmanship, and pride in everything she does.
We couldn’t be prouder of her achievements and the way she represents both our school and the wider community.

🌙 Pyjama Day was a huge success! 🌙

Today our school was filled with colour, comfort, and plenty of cosy vibes as we celebrated Pyjama Day in support of the incredible Pyjama Foundation. This organisation works tirelessly to support children in foster care through learning, mentoring, and confidence‑building programs.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful Star of the Sea families, we raised an amazing $440. Your kindness helps provide reading support, educational resources, and positive role models for children who need it most.

Being part of the St Joseph’s Parish is truly one of the greatest gifts to our school community. Today our Year 4 students were lucky enough to spend time with Fr Jacob, who shared his wisdom and joy while teaching them about the Holy Trinity.

Moments like these remind us how deeply our parish enriches the faith life of our school — guiding, supporting, and walking alongside our students as they grow in understanding and spirit.
