When it comes to breastfeeding, many women don't know what they don't know.
As many as 80% of women stop breastfeeding before they want to.

Every woman should be supported to feed her baby in the way SHE chooses.

If you want to breastfeed confidently and reduce the risk of painful and stressful complications experienced by so many women, discover this gentle, evidence-based method of breastfeeding that is changing the lives of women and their babies all over the world.

🤰 What do you wish you knew before having a baby?
🤱 Were you prepared for breastfeeding?

"When this popped up on my page I thought, here we go, FB is stalking me with nappy bags and all things I should purchase for my baby. However I hovered, read reviews and reflected back to the emotional and physical trauma I had trying to breastfeed my first.

When second baby was on the way I was still not given much education on how to breastfeed. I was scared, I did not want to feel a failure again and wanted to prepare myself. I did not hesitate any further, the price was cheaper then a month of formula.

The support from The Thompson Team is outstanding. The knowledge, understanding and professionalism continues to support my BF journey.

I have overcome challenges in early breastfeeding with prompt support from the TTM team. I feel they are always by my side and part of my family. I feel like Dr Robyn is my cyber mum who has guided me with such a gentle, nurturing manner with a phenomenal amount of research, evidence based practice and personal understanding.

Words do not describe the thanks that I have for the The Thompson Method team for supporting me, and helping me develop a maternal bond with my baby that’s beyond this universe.

Thank you 💗"

Whether you’re a first time mum or you’ve been through it all before, The Beautiful Breastfeeding Program will guide you step by step so that you can aim to avoid the common breastfeeding complications experienced by far too many women. Complications like painful damaged ni***es, breast engorgement and mastitis, the fear of low milk supply, the use of ni**le shields and dummies, your baby being fed formula and the list goes on.

The Thompson Method is a gentle, evidence based method that will help you reduce the risk of birth trauma and breastfeeding complications so that you can breastfeed your baby pain-free, for as long as you choose.

Adorable!! 🥰

Hi! I'm Meg! 👋

Chances are, if you've landed here, you may just be cruising (or cursing) your way through one of the craziest, most special times in life - pregnancy! If so, CONGRATULATIONS! I would so deeply love to be on your team, to gently guide and nurture you through this beautiful time of transitions - birth to breast and beyond!

Let me tell you a little about who I am, what I do, and most importantly, WHY.

I am a Registered Nurse with a background primarily in Intensive Care and Coronary Care. I stepped off the busy ICU floor in 2021 when I had my second baby, and fate started pulling me in a different direction.

I love all things birth and babies. And, of course, BREASTFEEDING! What a wonderful, clever thing our female bodies can do to nourish and comfort our babies. 'It must all just happen so naturally once the baby is born', I thought, in my pre-baby naivety.

Well, the fact is, it can happen naturally. But the unfortunate truth is that the busy, medicalised system that most of us birth our babies within, doesn't always foster the perfect environment in which mothers and babies can naturally and instinctively just 'do their thing'. Through my own experiences, I became acutely aware of the painful, unnecessary complications commonly faced by breastfeeding mothers (not to mention the confusing, conflicting advice that comes flying in from every direction!).

The great news is, that with awareness, foresight and preparation, we CAN navigate and overcome this. We don't need to forcefully attach babies to our breast or eat our body weight in magic milk-making cookies (sorry about this one!). And we most certainly don't need to sacrifice every precious opportunity for rest to be attached to an expressing device, or logging our baby's every move on an app. If we are supported and nurtured, our instincts will always lead the way.

Since finding The Thompson Method in the midst of overwhelmed first-time Mum breastfeeding despair in 2019, I've been shouting it from the rooftops. Now, as a Certified Thompson Method Educator, I'm so privileged to be able to facilitate ‘The Beautiful Breastfeeding Program’ and gift other women the knowledge and confidence to not only survive, but THRIVE throughout their unique pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding journeys. It brings me so much joy to gently support other women to achieve and enjoy breastfeeding - pain free!

I am currently continuing my studies to achieve certification as a Thompson Method Practitioner so that I can expand on my services and offer 1:1 consultation and personalised support for women who are experiencing breastfeeding complications postpartum. Watch this space!

On a more casual note, I am lucky to live in sunny Hervey Bay, Queensland. When I'm not working with mothers and their families, I love nothing more than spending quality time with my own. My favourite weekends involve sun, sand, salt water, family, friends and fooood!

If you'd like to have the very best quality, evidence-based tools in your belt as you embark on the most important job in the world, I'd love to chat with you and help you get prepared.

Dr Robyn Thompson, midwife and breastfeeding consultant, shares why a pain-free breastfeeding experience has a lot to do with the very first breastfeed. She encourages women to be well informed so that they can be in control this precious time, immediately after their baby is born.

The rapid processing of the hospital system rushes women in, through and out, often resulting in painful complications right from the beginning. But with the right education and preparation, pain-free breastfeeding can be achieved.

Are you really prepared to breastfeed? 🤱

You labour at home for as long as you can. You go into hospital. That moment has finally come to meet your newborn baby. It’s really happening!

Contractions. Pain. Emotions.

She finally makes an appearance.

You hold her for the first time and you’re overwhelmed with joy.

Then, it’s time for her first breastfeed.

Instead of experiencing that moment of bliss when she starts to draw down your colostrum, you feel excruciating pain.

Your partner reassures you that it will be okay.

Hospital staff offer their advice, but each one has a different approach.

One of them even held your baby and forced your baby to your breast, causing even more pain.

Every feed is the same and you’re still crying in pain.

You’re exhausted and you trusted the system to get you through this.

Unfortunately, this is the reality for so many mothers for the first day after giving birth and often leads to a negative association with breastfeeding from the beginning.

There are 2 reasons why this happens for so many women:

☝They are shown forceful, outdated techniques that often result in ni**le trauma.
✌They focused on their labour and birth and thought that breastfeeding would just happen; that it would be easy, and did not have the knowledge to help themselves and their baby.

Of course, there are other reasons why things may not go as planned and some of these situations are unavoidable.

This is the moment when many mothers realise the importance of educating themselves prior to giving birth.

I'm here for you Mama. Let's get you prepared so you can go into this precious time with the knowledge and confidence to trust those powerful instincts within you ❤️

I had cracked, bleeding, painful ni***es The Thompson Method Reviews 25/01/2023

Because of interruptions to her 3 Golden Hours, as well as forceful breastfeeding techniques in hospital, experienced Mum Kelly says that had she been a first-time mum, she would have given up by day 5.

"My problems began whilst still in hospital from not getting the 3 golden hours to being rushed to get showered and moved to another ward. My ni***es were pretty much damaged before I left the hospital after only 24 hours."

Kelly's breastfeeding story has a very happy ending, which she credits to finding The Thompson Method. Read her full story here: https://www.thethompsonmethod.com/blog/the-thompson-method-reviews?fbclid=IwAR3_ctuPdNr-bockVtB6HPy4cCWN68QqjHANEzaMjOhiaEfxfGApmj_3rT0

If you're wondering 'what on earth is 3 Golden Hours?'... please get in touch with your email address as I would love to send you a free, very informative video series.
