🌿 Year 7 & 8 Bushwalking on the Mt Ida Trail! 🥾

On Wednesday, 2 September, our Year 7 & 8 HPE students took on the Mt Ida Trail, bringing their bushwalking skills and enthusiasm to another fantastic day out on the trails! 🌳👟

With a full-day hike on the Stewarts Head Trail coming up on Friday, 11 September, our students are getting plenty of valuable experience and building their fitness and confidence along the way. 💪

🚀 Book Fair Success ~ To the Book Fair & Beyond! 🌟

What an out-of-this-world Book Fair we had last week! 🌌📖

Our students had a fantastic time celebrating this year’s theme, “To the Book Fair and Beyond – Reading is Out of This World!” 🚀 From amazing space-themed dress-ups and colouring competitions to exploring the huge range of books during lunch and after school, there was plenty of excitement throughout the week! 👩‍🚀🪐

A HUGE thank you to our amazing P&C for all their hard work in organising and running the Book Fair. We also thank all our families, staff and community members for their wonderful support.

Together, we sold an incredible $2,200 worth of books! 🎉

We would also like to give a very special thank you to our wonderful families who chose to purchase and donate books to our school library. 💫 Thanks to your generosity, our Library has received a fantastic donation of brand-new books for our students to enjoy. What a beautiful way to give back and help grow our collection! ❤️

Thank you for helping us inspire a love of reading and showing our students that the adventures found in a book really can take you to infinity and beyond! 🚀🌟📖

A huge thank you to the Herberton Post Office for once again showing their incredible support for our hard-working P&C!

The Herberton Post Office has generously donated all of the raffle prizes, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Herberton State School P&C. 🙌

🛶 Year 9/10 Outdoor Recreation at TEEC! 🌿

Our Year 9/10 students had another fantastic day at Tinaroo Environmental Education Centre (TEEC) on Friday 21 August, taking part in a canoeing activity as part of their Outdoor Recreation unit.

Students explored how canoeing can be a great way to engage with and enjoy the natural environment around us. They learnt about canoe anatomy, basic paddle strokes, T-rescues and safety signals, before putting their skills to the test in a fun Paddlegaine activity – a Rogaine in canoes! 🚣‍♀️🚣

A fantastic day of learning, teamwork, skill-building and plenty of time out on the water!
