Term 3, Week 7

We've got plenty happening this week, with lots of busy afternoons filled with learning, laughter and special events. Our Early Reading Workshops continue, Smile Afternoons will be held for our Kindy and Pre-primary families, and our choir members will be hard at work preparing their voices.

We'll kick off Friday morning with our Your Move Breakfast before coming together for our Father's Day Assembly, where we will acknowledge all the wonderful fathers and father figures in our students' lives, including dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, older brothers and other special role models who provide encouragement, support and care.

It's going to be a fantastic week packed with opportunities to connect, learn and celebrate! 💙💚💛❤️

💙 Let’s Help Our P&C Make Father’s Day Extra Special! 💙

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and our amazing P&C has put together both a wonderful Father’s Day Stall and a fantastic Father’s Day Raffle to help students celebrate the special people in their lives.

🎁 Father’s Day Stall Students will have the opportunity to choose a special gift for Dad, Grandad or another important father figure. Thanks to a generous donation from Moon and Back, there are even more wonderful gifts available this year!

Thank you, Ellenbrook Lions Club, for your generous donation to our school library!
Our students will love exploring these fantastic new books, and we are so grateful for your support in helping us foster a love of reading and learning. Community partnerships like this make a real difference to our students.

Term 3, Week 6

This week, our Year 3 to Year 6 students will be enjoying swimming lessons all week. We also have two Early Reading Workshops and our final Healthy Eating Workshop for the term.

We’re looking forward to another wonderful week of learning, connection and growth across our school community.

We welcomed a special visitor back to HBPS yesterday. We are incredibly grateful to Rita Saffioti MLA and Healthway for supporting our school through the Healthy Schools Grant program. Thank you to Rita Saffioti MLA for helping make opportunities like this possible for our students and school community.

Mrs Koch has been part of the Henley Brook Primary School journey from the very beginning. Through every milestone, challenge and success, she has been a steady source of support and leadership for our students, staff and families.

Seeing her join Sabine Winton, Minister for Education, at Parliament House this week for a dinner with fellow Foundation Principals was a wonderful recognition of her contribution to public education and to our school community.

We are incredibly proud to have Mrs Koch leading Henley Brook Primary School and grateful for everything she does every day.

‘What is a Foundation Principal?’ you ask.

Foundation Principals have the privilege of leading the creation of our new schools.

In many ways, they are builders:
✨ They provide guidance on the physical construction of their schools;
✨ They build brand new school teams; and
✨ They build connections with local families and their school communities.

This is all in readiness for that special day when their school opens for the very first time.

Spending quality time with these school leaders over dinner at Parliament House was a real honour.

The Cook Labor Government has opened 30 new primary schools and 8 new secondary schools since 2017.

Between now and 2030, we’ll open 11 new primary schools and 2 new high schools.

It was exciting to hear directly from these awesome Foundation Principals about their experiences and perspectives as they help shape this work from the ground up. ❤️

Our Year 3-6 Choir travelled to Churchlands Senior High School on the pupil-free day to take part in the Massed Choir Cluster Rehearsal. Students spent the morning singing alongside choirs from other schools, developing their skills and preparing for the Massed Choir Festival later this term. We are looking forward to showcasing all their hard work at the festival and are now one step closer to our ultimate goal: world choral domination!

Term 3, Week 5

We have a short week for students with two Pupil Free Days to begin the week:

📚 Monday 17 August – Pupil Free Day for our Staff Development Day
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Tuesday 18 August – Pupil Free Day for Parent Teacher Meetings

Students return to school on Wednesday 19 August.

This week also includes our School Board Open Meeting, Massed Choir Festival Cluster Rehearsal, Healthy Eating Workshop 3, and Friday morning Running Club.
