Over the weekend, our dedicated educator Miss Hannah attended the Key Word Sign Australia Intermediate Workshop with Therapy Matters, continuing to grow her knowledge and skills in supporting communication and connection.

Miss Hannah’s journey over the past few years has been wonderful to watch. Her enthusiasm for learning, sharing her knowledge with others and championing Key Word Sign throughout Hendra House reflects her genuine commitment to ensuring every child feels seen, heard and understood.

We are so proud of Miss Hannah for the passion and dedication she brings to her learning and for the way she inspires our team to continue building inclusive environments where every child has a voice and every form of communication is valued.

This week, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome one of our Kindy Dad’s,who generously gave his time to complete a thorough Workplace Health and Safety Audit across all of our Hendra House environments.

With his background in safety and maintenance engineering, we knew he would be the perfect person to bring a fresh set of eyes, a wealth of knowledge and a keen attention to detail to this important task.

At Hendra House, the safety and wellbeing of our children, families and team is always at the heart of what we do. Having members of our community share their professional knowledge and expertise with us is such a wonderful example of the strength of our village and the connections we continue to build.

A heartfelt thank you to our Kindy Dad for sharing his time, skills and expertise with us. We are so grateful to have families who are willing to contribute to our community in such meaningful ways, helping us continually reflect, improve and create the safest possible environments for our little people to learn, grow and thrive.

🚀✨ A Week of Space at Hendra House! 🌙

What an out of this world week we’ve had exploring the wonders of space! From launching paper aeroplanes and discovering the magic of flight to sparking curious conversations about astronauts, planets and the universe, our little learners have been reaching for the stars.

We also want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate our incredible team for the thought, creativity and intentionality they bring to creating such rich and meaningful learning experiences. Their commitment to following the children’s interests, nurturing curiosity and turning everyday moments into opportunities for discovery is what makes learning at Hendra House so special.

At Hendra House, we love learning together, dreaming big and discovering just how big our world can be! 💫

What an incredible visit we had for Space Week from one of our very own Kindy dads, who is a pilot! ✈️🚀

Our special visitor began his morning with our Bottlebrush babies and Banksia toddlers. There were a few hesitant faces at first, but once the children realised it was one of our very own Hendra House dads, their excitement quickly grew as they discovered what he had brought along with him.

Each child was given their very own NASA paper aeroplane to fly, and they absolutely loved watching their planes take off and soar through the air!

We then headed over to visit our Wattle and Eucalyptus children, who had the opportunity to pretend to be pilots, ask lots of questions and learn more about what it is really like to be a pilot.

The excitement continued when our pilot demonstrated how to safely take off and land a drone helicopter. The children watched with such anticipation and cheered loudly when he successfully landed!

We then moved into small groups to make our very own paper aeroplanes. Some parts were a little tricky, but our children were certainly up for the challenge! Once their creations were ready, we headed outside to put them to the test and see just how far they could fly.

We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful Hendra House families who take the time to share their careers, talents, passions and hobbies with our children. These experiences open up a world of learning opportunities, spark curiosity and allow our little people to learn from the people who are such an important part of their lives.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful families who share their passions, talents and interests with our Hendra House community.

Last week, one of our Kindy family members, who is incredibly passionate about sports and fitness, came along to run a special sports program for all of our children.

The children had so much fun getting active, playing games, practising their hand-eye coordination and developing their gross motor skills. Most importantly, the experience brought so much joy, laughter and excitement to our little people as they moved, played and enjoyed being active together.

We are so grateful to our families who take the time to share their passions with our children and help create these special learning experiences. It is these beautiful connections and moments of shared joy that make our Hendra House community so special.

What are two of our most favourite things? 🦖 Dinosaurs and potion making, of course!

So, why not combine them both? That’s exactly what we did on Friday! 🧪🦕

Our little scientists became dinosaur explorers, creating their very own prehistoric potions, mixing, pouring, experimenting and watching their creations fizz and bubble.

There was so much curiosity, imagination and wonder as the children explored what happened when they mixed different ingredients together.

Because when you combine two things children love, you create a whole lot of fun, learning and magic!
