🏃‍♂️🏅 GC Rec & Sport Athletics Carnival

Last week, a group of our students proudly represented Helensvale State School at the GC Rec & Sport Athletics Carnival held at the Runaway Bay Sports Centre.

The day was filled with fun, participation, achievement and plenty of smiles as students challenged themselves, cheered on their peers and celebrated their successes. It was wonderful to see our students embracing new experiences, demonstrating great sportsmanship and building confidence throughout the day.

💙 One parent shared: “She experienced teamwork, made new friends and felt confident enough to participate and engage without me by her side.”

💙 Another parent told us: “He’s so excited about his three ribbons he’s planning to wear them pinned to his uniform Friday to show everyone.”

We are incredibly proud of all students who attended and thank the staff and families who supported them in making the day such a positive and memorable experience.

🎉 To finish the term in style, Mr Forrest stepped up to the plate and got slimed by one of the lucky winners from our Year 6 Market Day stalls! Congratulations to Murphie, who earned the honour of choosing Mr Forrest for the sliming challenge. 💚

Not to be outdone, Mr V bravely took part as well and faced an icy soaking in the Ice Bucket Challenge! 🧊💦

What a fun way to celebrate a fantastic term of learning, achievement and community spirit. Enjoy the holidays, everyone.

We look forward to seeing you next term!

🌟 Voices of the Future Regional Grand Final 🌟

After six months of preparation, practice and fine-tuning, our Year 5 and 6 students who qualified for the Voices of the Future Regional Grand Final took to the stage yesterday at the Helensvale Library Auditorium, presenting their TED-style talks to a packed audience of parents, school leaders and teachers.

The quality of the speeches delivered by the eight finalists from Bellevue Park State School, Park Lake State School and Helensvale State School was nothing short of exceptional. Each presentation showcased confidence, passion and powerful ideas, leaving the audience inspired.

We are incredibly proud of our Helensvale State School students, who achieved outstanding results:
🥇 Year 6 First Place
🥈 Year 5 Second Place
⭐ Year 6 outstanding finalist representative

These achievements reflect not only the hard work and dedication of our students, but also their willingness to challenge themselves, refine their ideas and share their voices with others.

A special thank you to Mrs Farrugia and Mrs Hoppitt for your passion, encouragement and commitment in guiding our students throughout their Voices of the Future journey. Your support played a significant role in this wonderful success. Ms Shackleford for her outstanding organisation of the event. Her dedication ensured the smooth running of not only our school's involvement, but the entire regional competition.
