Wishing all of our Holy Cross dads and grandfathers a wonderful day today and everyday! 👨🧓

We were blessed to have over 110 fathers and grandpas celebrate on Friday! 💙💛

During our special prayer…

💙🙏We brought forward our letters that spell DAD- remembering the head, heart and hands of those we call ‘father’ or ‘Dad’.

❤️We brought forward a heart that honours our father’s hearts, which feel such protective love for their families and loved ones.

🤚We brought forward tools to honour our father’s hands which work to provide many things for their families.

📖We brought forward a book to honour the wisdom and experience with which fathers guide their children.

🕯️We brought forward a candle to remind us that our fathers are the lights of our lives. We thank God each and every day for their guidance and support.

⏳We brought forward a timer as a reminder of the precious moments in our lives that we share with our fathers, grandfathers and other father figures in our lives.

👏Thank you to our Kinder, Year 1, 3 & 4 students for their heartwarming songs, our readers, staff who planned and prepared the afternoon and our wonderful mums who cooked up an awesome sausage sizzle bbq! 👏💕

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR CONTINUES!

Last Friday, our students were very excited and completed their Wish Lists. Friday afternoon the Book Fair opened and it was nothing short of...busy (in a fantastic way)!!!

Many of our Holy Cross community have visited the fair with many using the Wish Lists to buy some sneaky gifts.

Donations: We also have a Book Case of potential donations that can be purchased for our Library – all selected by our students! If you would like to purchase a book for our Library, just look for the Book Case titled ‘Donations’. Once the donations are processed, the student who bought it will get it first to borrow.

Last chance! The Book Fair’s last sessions are this afternoon 3-3:30pm and tomorrow morning, Friday, 28 August from 8.30-9.00am.

Welcome to Week 6.

We hope everyone had a refreshing and productive week and is feeling ready to dive back into our learning goals as we continue through this busy Term 3. It is a wonderful time to come together as a community, and we look forward to the opportunities for growth and connection that this week brings.

Book Fair - Open 8:25-9am Tue-Thurs, and Tue-Frid 2:45-3:30pm

Monday
Our staff will be participating in a Staff Spirituality Day, and as such, this is a Pupil Free Day for all students. We celebrate the Feast of St. Bartholomew, Apostle. St. Bartholomew was one of the Twelve Apostles, known for his steadfast dedication to spreading the Gospel. His feast day invites us to reflect on the commitment of the Apostles to their faith and their mission to share Christ's message of love with the world. We draw inspiration from his example to be witnesses of faith in our own school community.

Tuesday
Morning Prayer 9am.
We have an SRC Meeting taking place from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. We will also celebrate as a whole school both Year 1 sharing and Principal's Awards at our assembly at an earlier than usual start time at 2:20pm.

Wednesday

Thursday
The canteen is open today, and students are to wear their sports uniform as they will participate in Creative Arts and Sports lessons due to the Soccer Gala Day on Friday. Stage 3 will also present tehir innovative ideas at the Stage 3 STEM Showcase.

What an incredible FRIENDSHIP DAY! The SRC team wants to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone for their participation.

The goal of Friendship Day was simple: break down walls, step out of our comfort zones, and expand our social networks. Looking around at all the mixed groups smashing the team challenges and sharing laughs, we’d say it was a huge success!

From the STEM Build a Bridge (metaphor intended) that had us all laughing to deep connections after kindness letters had been written, it was amazing to see old friendships grow even stronger and brand-new connections spark right before our eyes. Our community is only as strong as the bonds we build with one another, and yesterday we proved we have amazing connections with each other

Let’s keep this amazing energy going! Great job in planning and delivering this day SRC!

FERRARI DESIGN CHALLENGE — WHAT A DAY!

Our students just went full throttle into the world of Formula One, and they smashed it out of the park! A massive thank you to Adrian Francis, representing HP Ferrari who facilitated an amazing day!

Today, many of our budding engineers, designers and mathematicians stepped into the shoes of a real Ferrari F1 team, diving deep into the design thinking process to solve real-world problems for drivers, teams and fans.

The brief? Find a way to make the Formula One experience even better.

The results? Absolutely mind-blowing.

Students built full working apps. They created AI-generated videos to bring their ideas to life. They collaborated, they problem-solved, and they pushed themselves right outside their comfort zones, because that's exactly where growth happens.

And to top it off, every student pitched their big idea Shark Tank-style in front of their peers — nerves, confidence and all!

It wasn't always easy. There were challenging moments, uncomfortable moments, moments of testing their limits, but that's the pursuit of excellence in action, and our kids leaned into it with everything they had.

So proud of every single student who brought their A-game today. Speed, precision, teamwork — you nailed it! 🏆🔴
