Thanks Fuel For Schools Ltd for supplying our Breakfast Club!

We don’t know every child’s story. We can’t fix every problem they face at home.

But we can make sure they arrive at school to a warm breakfast, a welcoming face and a community that cares.

Because Fuel for Schools has never been just about a piece of toast.

It’s about giving children a better chance to learn, participate, connect and belong.

Together, we Fuel the Future

This afternoon, members of our school community will gather to farewell former teacher aide Mrs Shirley Barrett who passed away recently. Mrs Barrett started at Heatley in 1978 and saw many generations of students move through our school including her own. In 2019 Regional Director Graham Foster presented Shirley with an acknowledgement of 41 years service to the Queensland Department of Education and in 2022 staff and students celebrated Shirley's 80th birthday. Shirley retired from Heatley SS in July 2025. Kind thoughts are extended to Shirley's family, friends and colleagues.
