Today, Junior B took their Inquiry learning beyond the classroom and into nature!

As part of their exploration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and traditions, students have been learning about the significance of native and Indigenous Australian plants. Guided by Tanya, they enjoyed an environmental walk around our school, discovering a variety of bush tucker plants including Lilly Pilly, Lemon Myrtle, Wattle, Grevillea, and many more.

To bring their learning to life, students also planted native and Indigenous plants around our school grounds, helping to create a space that celebrates Australia's unique environment while supporting local biodiversity.

A huge thank you to Tanya for sharing her knowledge and inspiring our students to connect with Country through hands-on learning. 🌿💚

Athletics Day 2026 ✨

Yesterday our Junior A Girls had their very first experience on the athletics track, and they were amazing! 💙

From running races to trying new events, they showed so much courage, enthusiasm and determination. What made us the proudest was seeing them cheer each other on, celebrate each other’s efforts and encourage their friends to have a go.

For many of them it was a brand-new experience, and they embraced every moment with big smiles and a great team spirit. 🌟

We loved watching them step outside their comfort zones, try something new and make memories together. What a wonderful first athletics day! 💪🏃‍♀️

Our Grade 1/2 students have been busy exploring multiplication in a hands-on and imaginative way!

Using toy dinosaurs and mini surfboards, students investigated equal groups by balancing dinosaurs on multiple surfboards. They counted how many dinosaurs were in each group and worked out the total using multiplication strategies and then making the relevant equation. The classroom was full of excitement as students tested different combinations and explained their mathematical thinking. 🌊🦖➕✖️

In the next session, students switched to a creative task and made play dough hedgehogs complete with lots of spiky quills! By rolling the dice, students found out how many hedgehogs to make, then how many spikes on each hedgehog! This activity helped strengthen student knowledge on multiplication. 🦔🎨

Our Junior students celebrated the work of Indigenous artist Ronnie Tjampitjinpa this NAIDOC week.

Ronnie Tjampitjinpa’s artwork is deeply inspired by his Pintupi culture and the Tingari Cycle, a series of sacred stories about ancestral beings who travelled across the land creating important sites. These stories guide much of his painting, shaping the symbols, patterns, and places he represents. His life moving across Pintupi country and his strong connection to traditional lands also influence the themes in his work, reflecting a deep relationship with Country and cultural knowledge.

Students drew inspiration from Ronnie's use of colour, repeated shapes, bold lines and black linen backgrounds to create their own artwork influenced by his captivating style.
