B STREET SMART
On Tuesday, 11th August, Year 10 students travelled to Sydney to attend the annual B Street Smart event. B Street Smart is a youth road safety program organised by the Westmead Hospital Trauma Service, aimed at educating students about the realities and consequences of risky driving behaviours through interactive demonstrations and real-life stories from crash survivors. The event empowers young people to make safer choices on the road by highlighting the importance of responsible driving and passenger safety.

We are excited to announce the 70th Anniversary of Raymond Terrace / Hunter River High School!

Location: Hunter River High School
Assembly: 12:50 pm in the School Hall
Refreshments: Following the brief assembly in the Multi-Purpose Centre
Brief School Tour: After refreshments, for those interested
Conclusion: 2:30 pm

Do you have any school memorabilia to share? We would love to borrow items such as school uniforms, photos, trophies, yearbooks, or other keepsakes for display during the celebration.

How to contribute:

Please deliver your items to the school office in a plastic bag.
Clearly label your items with your full name, phone number, email address, and the years the memorabilia are from.
All items will be safely kept and returned after the event.

Today, Tom Reynolds from Independent Drug Education Australia (IDEA) delivered an informative presentation to our Year 9 and 10 students about drugs and alcohol. Tom shared relevant information and valuable insights, equipping our students to make responsible and safe decisions as they transition into young adulthood.

Our Year 9 and 10 students remained engaged throughout the presentation and left feeling well-informed and empowered. Thank you, Tom, for your important work and dedication to student wellbeing!

Our hospitality students had an amazing day in Sydney, gaining valuable insights from the passionate teachers and chefs at William Angliss Institute. We explored the brand new Sydney Fish Markets, discovering the freshest seafood and behind-the-scenes action. To top it off, we enjoyed delicious flavours at Spice Alley before heading home.
