📚✨ BOOK WEEK AT HEALESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL! ✨📚

What a fantastic day of celebrating all things literature at Healesville High School! 🎉📖

Our students pulled out all the stops with their brilliant, creative and wonderfully imaginative costumes, bringing some of our favourite characters from the pages to life. From heroes and villains to magical characters and literary legends, the school was certainly a little more colourful than usual! 🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🐉📚

A huge shout-out to everyone who got involved and helped make the day such a fantastic celebration of books, reading and imagination. There were some seriously impressive costumes on display! 👏

And, of course, a very special mention to our fantastic staff who joined in the fun and dressed up too! 👩‍🏫🎭 Their enthusiasm made the day even more memorable.

Who says high school teachers can't be fun?! 😉😂

Thank you to everyone who helped make Book Week such a fun-filled celebration. It was wonderful to see our school community embracing the joy of stories, characters and the wonderful world of literature. ❤️📚

What a way to kick off Semester 2! Our Legends Band has continued their incredible streak, taking home GOLD at the Victorian School Music Festival at the Hawthorn Arts Centre! 🥇🎺🎷🎸

Every student brought something extra special to their performance today, playing with confidence, musical maturity and plenty of LEGENDARY energy! 🌟 Their achievement is a wonderful reflection of the talent, dedication and passion that make the Healesville High School music program so special. 💙

🥕🍗 Year 9 Giving Back at FareShare! 💚

Our Year 9 students recently swapped the classroom for the commercial kitchen at FareShare Abbotsford, rolling up their sleeves and making a HUGE difference to people and families across Victoria.

Ten generous Year 9 volunteers worked together to:

🥗 Assemble 720 vegetarian meals
🧈 Decant 80kg of butter
🥦 Cut 150kg of cauliflower
🍗 Label and fold 170 roast chicken bags
🧹 Clean and reset the kitchen

And the best part? Their efforts helped make an incredible 2,630 meals possible! 👏👏

Our students loved the opportunity to experience a commercial kitchen, develop new skills and, most importantly, give their time to support others in our community.

Each student also received a certificate recognising their hard work and contribution. 📜⭐

We are incredibly proud of the generosity, teamwork and community spirit shown by our Year 9 students. This is Community, Opportunity, Respect and Endeavour in action!

What an amazing day of making a difference! 💚🙌

🧮✨ Mathematical Minds in Action! ✨🧮

On Wednesday 5 August, some of our top mathematical minds from Years 7–12 put their problem-solving skills to the test in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)! 🧠🔢

The AMC is Australia’s longest-running and most well-known mathematics competition for school students, challenging participants to think creatively, tackle tricky problems and see just how far their mathematical thinking can take them.

Our students took on the challenge with determination, curiosity and plenty of mathematical brainpower! 💪📐

We’ll find out how our students performed later this term, with Certificates of Merit, Distinction and High Distinction all up for grabs! 🏆

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who participated and took on the challenge. We can’t wait to celebrate their achievements at a special AMC Morning Tea later this term. 🎉

Good luck to all our mathematicians — we’re already calculating the days until the results arrive! 😉➗

🏆 Semester One Presentation Assembly – Celebrating Our Students! 🏆

On Thursday 6 August, we came together for our Semester One Presentation Assembly — a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements, growth, effort and contributions of our students at Healesville High School. 🎉

While we proudly recognised students receiving awards, the morning was also a reminder of just how much we have to be proud of in all of our students.

Our awards reflected the values at the heart of our school:

🤝 COMMUNITY – contributing positively and supporting others.

🌟 OPPORTUNITY – embracing opportunities and making the most of every experience.

💙 RESPECT – showing consideration and respect for ourselves, others and our school.

💪 ENDEAVOUR – demonstrating persistence, effort, improvement and a commitment to personal best.

🎵 Music Awards recognised students who demonstrated consistent effort and commitment, musical improvement and excellence, and positive contributions to our music program.

🏊‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Sporting Awards celebrated our male and female age-group champions from swimming, athletics and cross-country, along with the recipients of the Chris Honeycombe Memorial Trophy.

📚 Academic Awards recognised students nominated by their teachers for their achievement and commitment throughout Semester One.

💪 Endeavour Awards celebrated sustained effort, persistence, improvement and personal best, while 🌟 Excellence Awards recognised sustained high or outstanding achievement across multiple subjects.

🏆 The Principal’s Award was presented to the student with the highest nomination points in each year level, with the Manager’s Award recognising the next-highest distinct tally.

👏 Congratulations to every award recipient!

And to all of our students — whether you received an award, improved your personal best, supported a friend, tried something new or simply kept giving things a go — we are incredibly proud of you.

🎶 Music Brings Us Together! 🎺🥁

Recently, we were delighted to welcome 36 talented students from Chancellor State College on Queensland's Sunshine Coast for an unforgettable day of music-making with our Healesville High School Legends Band.

Together, students workshopped three brand-new pieces before performing and recording them to share with their families. The most impressive part? They had only met that morning! By the end of the day, they played with the confidence, teamwork and connection of a band that had been rehearsing together for months.

It was a wonderful reminder that music has an incredible ability to bring people together. No matter your experience or the instrument you play, making music creates friendships, builds confidence and produces something truly special.

A huge thank you to our visitors from Chancellor State College for sharing such an inspiring day with us. We hope to make music together again soon! 🎼✨

🏓 Smashing Success at the Year 9 Table Tennis Day! 🏓

Our Year 9 students served up an outstanding performance at the recent Table Tennis Day, showing fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork and determination from start to finish.

A huge congratulations to our girls' team, who rallied their way to an impressive overall runners-up finish! 🎉👏

Both the boys' and girls' teams represented Healesville High School with pride, displaying excellent behaviour, positive attitudes and giving their all in every match. They were a credit to our school, and we couldn't be prouder of the way they supported one another throughout the day.

Well done to everyone who competed—you certainly made us proud! 💙💛
