The warmer days are here, and Guling—Orchid Season—has begun. 🌸
Guling is the current artwork in the Wurundjeri Seasons Video Art Commissions, created by Wurundjeri artist and photographer Sarah Wandin. It is now showing on the Fed Square Atrium Screen, and will appear on the Fed Square Big Screen once it is back up and running in the coming weeks.
Created by Sarah Wandin, with cultural direction from Wurundjeri woman Jacqueline Wandin of Wandoon Estate Aboriginal Corporation at Wandoon Estate Aboriginal Corporation, WEAC. Title graphics by Sknow - sarah CVK / Sarah Condon; creative producer Lee Ramseyer Bache; facilitated by Little Projector Company.
Step into the rhythm of Country and experience the changing seasons through this series of video artworks by emerging First Nations artists.
The Wurundjeri Seasons Video Art Commissions celebrate the living knowledge of the Wurundjeri People and the seven seasons of Naarm (Melbourne). These seasons are not fixed to a calendar—they shift with the environment, reflecting deep relationships between people, plants, animals and Country.
Across the year, each season comes alive through contemporary First Nations art and the Woi Wurrung language, turning the city’s central gathering place into a site of cultural expression, connection and care for Country.
Big thanks to Fed Square for supporting this project
