Our children have been busy enjoying the fruits of their work in the garden, harvesting fresh produce to use in their cooking and discovering just how much can come from what we grow. 🥒🥦🥬

They also harvested loofahs from the garden and transformed them into beautiful handmade loofah soaps, following the whole journey from seed, to plant, to harvest, to something useful.

These are the kinds of experiences we value so deeply at Helena River Waldorf School. Children learn where their food comes from, develop practical skills, work together and experience the satisfaction of creating something from the land they have helped to care for.

Growing, harvesting, cooking and making. Learning with head, heart and hands. 🫶🧡

Our staff had such an enriching professional learning today, which culminated in a craft activity where we made beautiful seasonal gnomes for our nature tables. 🧶🧵

Our hearts are still full following our beautiful Winter Festival last week. ✨🕯️

As our community gathered beneath the perfectly still winter night sky, we celebrated one of our most cherished Waldorf traditions.

Together we walked the Winter Spiral, each child lighting a candle as a gentle reminder that even in the quiet darkness of winter, we all carry a light within.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a peaceful, joyful evening. We are so grateful to share these meaningful moments with our wonderful community. 🧡🕯️

Our Kindergarten Winter Festival was filled with warmth, wonder and community.

The winter sun shone gently down as our children walked the spiral, each carefully carrying their lantern to symbolise the light we all carry within. Together, we celebrated the quiet beauty of winter and enjoyed a shared meal of delicious soup and bread. 🧡

These special festivals are an important part of Waldorf education, bringing us together as a community and giving children a deep sense of rhythm, belonging and connection. 🫶

Thank you to our wonderful Kindergarten families for sharing such a beautiful morning with us.
