A lunchtime club based in Sydney CBD, we currently in a hybrid format (either at our venue or Online) A light lunch is provided.

SLP Toastmasters helps members learn leadership and communication skills through a range of public speaking activities in a supportive, friendly environment. We meet at Sydney Mechanics School of Arts on the 2nd & 4th Mondays each month from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM. For more information contact us at [email protected]

Congratulations to Pamela Cominos for winning the evaluation contest at the Waratah Toastmasters District 70 International Speech and Evaluation Contest! It's a great achievement and a testament to her skills in providing effective feedback and evaluation.

And congratulations to Anthony for delivering a great speech in the contest. Participating in such events takes courage and dedication, and it's a great opportunity to improve one's public speaking skills.

Sydney Lunchtime Presenters Toastmasters club wish both Pamela and Anthony continued success in their Toastmasters journey and hope they inspire others to pursue their goals in public speaking and leadership.

Last week we had a Table Topics contest. Pamela, Jigar, Lenny and Rajiv actively participated and answered this question: "What is your hidden talent".

The judges bestowed 1st Place to Rajiv. He represents the club at the Area 4 Table Topics Contest.

The theme of yesterday's wonderful Toastmasters hybrid meeting was "Book Week". Jigar Gosai covered technique of the week "How to Engage audience more effectively":
(1) Tell great stories
(2) Describe a scene or a character
(3) Piggyback on a previous speaker’s remark or theme
(4) Point out something important about the audience or the current setting
(5) Show a compelling visual image - Props
(6) Ask a provocative question
(7) Offer a humorous observation or anecdote
(8) Explain your own interest in the topic
(9) Tell listeners what the topic has to do with them

Everyone also learnt and enjoyed in Table Topic masters, thanks to Mary Liang. In addition to this Bob has given fantastic speech on "Natural Cycle"

The theme of today's fantastic hybrid Toastmasters meeting was Christmas in July. In addition to Lenny's excellent speech on ocean pollution, we heard four impromptu speeches.

On the 28th of February, we held an Evaluation Contest at the Sydney Lunchtime Presenters Club, and the following are the winners of first and second place:
Jigar Gosai took first place and Mary Liang came in second.

Today's Toastmasters meeting was jam-packed with information, including (1) the theme "Girls Rule the World," (2) table topics (impromptu speeches), (3) prepared speeches, (4) technique of the week, and much more....
