Today, we want to say a huge thank you to Morgans and everyone who took part in Big Dry Friday 2026. đź’™
Your support is helping children facing barriers to education thrive, no matter where they live.
Thanks to our partnership with Morgans Financial Limited, Schools Plus is reaching 29,496 students and 4,400 teachers across 39 rural, regional and remote schools this year.
Because every child deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of their postcode.
Thank you for standing with rural, regional and remote communities and helping create real, lasting change.
Australian Schools Plus
We are a national not-for-profit that believes all children have the right to equal opportunities.
At just 9 years old, Georgie has launched her own fundraising campaign in support of Schools Plus, and we couldn't be more honoured to be her non-profit of choice.
With her mum, Rachael Rofe providing some snacks and tech support, Georgie wrote her own script, practised, filmed and shared this video herself.
Her motivation was simple but powerful: she wanted to help make the world a better place.
Georgie's initiative is a reminder that age is no barrier to compassion, leadership or creating positive change.
Thank you, Georgie and Rachael, for sharing your story and inspiring others to get involved.

It’s not every day that you are awarded a national award for your contribution and excellence in education.
The award ceremony marked a significant milestone in my career. Since that moment, I have found myself reflecting on what the Fellowship has given me - not just in recognition, but in growth, perspective, and purpose.
Opportunities throughout the Fellowship year and beyond have been priceless. One of the most valuable things I’ve learned is the importance of intentional Professional Development. Through workshops, discussions, ongoing learning opportunities and school visits, I’ve developed a stronger sense of direction in my career.
I now approach challenges with greater confidence and with a more strategic mindset. The Fellowship year has encouraged me to be more reflective, more curious, and more proactive in seeking opportunities to improve my practice.
The guidance of the Lead Fellow has also been instrumental to my growth. Their mentorship has provided clarity, encouragement, and at times, the necessary challenge to push beyond my comfort zone. Having someone who models excellence while remaining approachable has made a lasting impression on how I view leadership and collaboration.
Equally impactful has been my connection with other Fellows, who have become life friends. This network of passionate, driven individuals has been inspiring. The opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, and collaborate with like-minded educators has reminded me that growth doesn’t happen in isolation.
Each Fellow brought a unique perspective, and learning from them has broadened my understanding of what is possible within our profession. These lifelong connections have sparked new ideas and have also encouraged me to reflect more critically on my own setting and consider how I can implement meaningful change.
Life after the award ceremony and fellowship year has been one of continued growth and reflection.
I feel more connected, more capable, and more committed to making a positive impact to education. This experience has not only enhanced my professional skills but has also shaped my mindset - encouraging me to lead with purpose, collaborate with intention, and continue striving for student excellence.

Becoming an Australian Schools Plus Fellow is often seen as the pinnacle — the application, the anticipation, the award night. And yes, it’s an incredible honour. But it’s not the destination.
It’s the ignition point.
What follows is where the real impact begins. You step into a network of educators who are deeply committed to changing the trajectory of young lives, regardless of postcode.
You’re surrounded by people who challenge your thinking, strengthen your practice, and expand what you believe is possible in education.
In a short time, my world shifted. From collaborating with the 2025 Fellows in Canberra to connecting with inspiring educators across Tasmania and Western Australia through High Impact School Visits, I’ve seen the power of shared purpose in action.
This fellowship doesn’t just recognise your work — it amplifies your impact. It provides space to reflect, confidence to lead, and momentum to keep creating meaningful, student-focused learning experiences.
If you believe in the power of opportunity and want to be part of something bigger than your classroom — apply.
This isn’t just an award. It’s a platform to lead change.

The Teaching Awards is an opportunity to recognise and amplify the impact you are already making every day.
And the best part? You only need to address four criteria.
If you’re considering applying, here’s how to approach the application with confidence:
1. Demonstrate your impact on student learning
Focus on the difference your practice makes.
What specific needs have you identified, what strategies have you implemented, and what measurable improvements have followed?
2. Highlight how you support and grow others
Consider how you contribute to a strong professional culture.
How have you shared knowledge, built capability, or influenced practice across your school or beyond, and what has been the result?
3. Showcase the strength of your partnerships
Think about how you work with families, communities, or other organisations.
How have these collaborations strengthened student outcomes and engagement?
4. Bring your work to life through a student story
A single, powerful example can illustrate the depth of your impact.
Share a student journey that reflects your commitment to equity and the difference your work is making.
Across each section, clear examples, evidence, and outcomes are key.
If you’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and your broader school community, this is an opportunity to achieve the recognition you deserve.
