🌟 The YES Connect Program is Back! 🌟

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome 9 students from Hay War Memorial High School to the first YES Connect session for Semester 2 2026, and what a fantastic start it was!

Students stepped into the creative world of Special Effects (SFX) Makeup, where they learned the techniques behind creating realistic bruises, cuts and wounds, as well as designing and making their own latex props. From mixing materials to applying professional effects, the class gave students a hands-on introduction to the skills used in film, television, theatre and the creative industries.

The workshop was packed with creativity, learning and plenty of fun, with students embracing the challenge of transforming everyday makeup into something truly spectacular.

Over the next five weeks, students will continue their YES Connect journey, exploring a range of creative and design-focused learning experiences. Upcoming cohorts include:

These connected learning experiences provide students with the opportunity to develop practical skills, explore their creativity, and gain insight into a variety of exciting career pathways.
