🧪✨Science Week 🔬🌱🚀

What an incredible week of curiosity, discovery and scientific thinking we’ve had across HCS!

During Science Week, each of our educators chose a science concept and transformed it into hands-on experiences that encouraged children to wonder, question, investigate, predict, experiment and discover.

Across our services, children explored an incredible range of scientific concepts, including physical and chemical science, composting, recycling and waste management, conservation, weather and seasons, the nature of materials, astronomy, non-living materials, force and energy, animal science, botany and the human body.

And the experiments? They were just as exciting!

From egg and sparkler experiments and balloon rockets, to investigating force and gravity at the local park, creating rocket ships and exploring planets, discovering the life cycle of a chicken, making volcanoes, drawing plants, creating chemical reactions in beacons, eggs and balloons, investigating crystals and rocks, and even making ice cream in a bag!

Our learning environments became places of investigation and wonder, where children could get messy, test ideas, make predictions, ask questions and discover that sometimes… science doesn’t go exactly as planned, and that’s where the best learning can happen!
