Goodstart Early Learning Hawthorne

Our Kindergarten children have been captivated by the life cycle of silkworms! Through observation, discussion, and hands-on learning, they have been developing an understanding of growth, change, and caring for living things. Watching these tiny creatures transform has sparked so much curiosity and wonder. ✨

Our little explorers headed to the local park today for a community adventure! 🌳

We began with an Acknowledgement of Country, recognising the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play. The children then set off on a nature quest, searching for leaves, flowers, insects, birds, and other special treasures found in nature.

A wonderful morning of connecting with Country, our community, and the environment around us. 💚

Feedback Friday 💛

There's no better way to end the week than by hearing from our wonderful families. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child's learning journey. Your kind words inspire us every day.

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

💜 Safe sleep is everyone's responsibility, and it's always a priority.

Looking for a way to give back to the community this Christmas?
Here is the perfect way -

🎄 LOVE IN ACTION AUSTRALIA — 2026 CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL 🎄

Christmas may still feel a little way off, but here at Love in Action Australia, preparations are already beginning for one of the biggest things we do each year. ❤️

Our Christmas Hampers are back for 2026!

Last Christmas, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to put together 70 Christmas hampers for families in need. 🎁

Seventy families received food, household essentials, Christmas treats and gifts to help make what can be an incredibly difficult time of year just that little bit brighter.

And this year, we’re getting started early. 🎄

We are beginning to collect donations of:

🥫 Non-perishable food and pantry essentials
🧴 Toiletries and personal-care items
🧸 New, unwrapped toys and gifts for children
🍫 Christmas treats and festive goodies
🎁 Other family-friendly items suitable for our hampers

Financial donations are also incredibly valuable and allow our team to purchase the items we’re running short of when it comes time to build the hampers.

❤️ Every donation matters.

One tin of food. One packet of toiletries. One children’s toy. One bag of groceries. It all comes together.

We are once again incredibly grateful to be partnering with Encounter Church, who will be helping us by receiving and storing donated goods while we prepare for hamper-packing time.

📍 Donation drop-off:
Encounter Church
287 Preston Road, Manly West

🕐 Wednesday & Sunday — 11:30am–1pm

Together, let’s see what our community can achieve this Christmas. ❤️

70 hampers last year… let’s get started on Christmas 2026! 🎄🎁

Please share this post with your friends, family, workplaces, schools and community groups. Even a share can help our appeal reach someone who would love to contribute.

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected and empowered. 🌟

As we recognise National Child Safety Week, we're reflecting on the important role we all play in creating environments where children can flourish. At Goodstart, child safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do, every day.
