A little bit of magic in the gentle sunshine today ✨🌿

Gathered together in our Yarning Circle, the children created their very own magic potions 🧪🌸 Mixing, pouring, sharing and imagining together, with tiny hands busy and wonderful ideas bubbling away.

Sometimes the simplest moments make the loveliest kind of magic. ☀️🍃✨

☀️🌿 Sunshine, Science & Art! 🌿☀️

Last week the children explored UV art paper, also known as sun print or cyanotype paper. This special light-sensitive paper uses UV rays from the sun to create beautiful blue-and-white prints from leaves, flowers and other objects.

Activities like this are a wonderful way to encourage children outdoors to explore their natural environment, while sparking curiosity and scientific thinking. 🔍🌱

As children experiment, they begin to wonder, predict and ask questions: Why does the paper change colour? What does sunlight do? What happens if we leave it longer? Will different objects make different prints?

It’s art, nature and science all rolled into one sunny little experiment! ☀️💙

We love to celebrate educator achievements and it’s not often we have multiple celebrations at one time!

Last week was very exciting for Jess, Sophie, Zoe and a past educator, Natasha, who graduated from their Primary Teaching degrees at Flinders University. 👩‍🎓 🎓 🥳
