A few of our Year 5/6 students recently enjoyed a wonderful visit to Little Lane Early Learning Centre, where they spent time reading stories and playing games with the younger children.

The visit gave our senior students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, build connections with the community, and be positive role models for the early learners. The younger students loved listening to the stories and joining in the fun activities prepared by the senior students.

A big thank you to Ananya, Adirai, Maya, Veom, Dylan, Tarun, and Julius B for representing our school so positively and making the visit such a success! ⭐

In our Year 6 needlework class, students are developing their “superpower” of focused attention ,stitch by stitch. By taking their time to learn new stitching techniques they build confidence and enjoy the process of creating something by hand. Have a look at the sample and some of their beautiful works in progress below.

🌿 Get a glimpse into Garden Harvest, our student art exhibition 🌿
Garden Harvest brings together a delightful collection of still-life drawings created by Erasmus Primary School students and inspired by their school garden. Each artwork reflects careful looking and thoughtful mark‑making, as students explored the journey from growing and harvesting to creating and sharing.

✨ There’s still time to visit — the exhibition is open until 2 May
📍 Hawthorn Town Hall Gallery

Rich in colour, texture and pattern, these drawings capture the abundance of the autumn harvest — produce the students helped nurture before it became a hearty soup enjoyed together in the school kitchen.

Easter fun this week as our Prep students buddied up with our Year 4s to create Sanskrit Easter cards.

Our Prep students also enjoyed making their own 3D Easter bunnies in Art, while our Year 1 students got creative with some beautiful Easter painting in their classroom.

Wishing everyone a very happy Easter for the upcoming weekend. 🐣

Our Prep to Year 2 students had an engaging Fire Education session last week. 🚒

They learned important safety skills, asked thoughtful questions like “Why do we have to stay low in smoke?” and “Where can I find my fire alarm at my house?”, and showed so much enthusiasm (as you can see!).

Such a fun and valuable experience for all.

Our Harmony Day last Friday was a celebration of the many cultures that make our school community so special. Students proudly wore traditional outfits and shared the stories behind them at assembly. We were also treated to a wonderful presentation from the Baharian family, who taught us about their Armenian heritage.

In the afternoon, all students joined in a lively Greek culture and dance incursion, complete with ancient stories, music, and plenty of enthusiastic dancing. The students loved it.

What a great day of celebrating together. 💛

🍈 Abundance in the Evergreen Garden! 🌱

A special treat for children and teachers will be to taste Erasmus home grown rock melons, with over fifteen nearly ready for harvesting. Also some heirloom Moon and Stars watermelon are about to be picked - they have a reputation for being one of the sweetest varieties.

We are grateful to the Diggers Club for donating the seeds.
